Immigration arrest 11 Chinese for illegal entry after they are dumped at a gas station

Naew Na reported that a gas station owner in Wang Thong district of Phitsanulok contacted the police after 11 Chinese men were dumped there.

The Chinese had crossed the border in a minivan then been deserted.

Local police and immigration soon on the scene found none of them had passports, none knew the driver and none knew how they had crossed into Thailand from Laos.

It was completely unclear from the report what they planned on doing in Thailand.

Their arrest was announced by IB chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang and officers from Region 5 and Phitsanulok immigration.

A picture in the media showed the chief flanked by heavily armed commandos and men in white suits.

Who will pay for their quarantine, the Chinese embassy or the taxpayer?

Imagine if they test them and find that all 11 are covid positive and were heading to Bangkok.......

A real welcome to Thailand photo.  They need commando's to arrest a couple of lost and confused border jumpers?  Overwhelming force and underwhelming guile courtesy of junta: inept government, Thailand wide.
