Perhaps if I get one with 'Covid-19' written on it, I'll get a seat to myself on the bus.

Are 'we' still barred from interprovincial buses...not that I have the balls to catch one?

No doubt track and trace devices coming to expats and immigrants next... try it out with tourists first.

It might be something like that or something that says CV19 free so the general Thai public doesn't start freaking out on every foreigner.

I'm sure the tourists heading for the soapy massages will be chuffed to know the authorities are looking out for them.

"Yes, I'll be there in a jiffy."

I'm sure the locals are going to super friendly to anyone seen wearing one of these wristbands. They'll be treated like lepers. How long before shops have signs outside "Solly, wristband people cannot".

If anyone hasn't yet grasped that Thailand with its enormous financial reserves can keep the borders closed for decades should they so choose, then you have now

You can come in but the restrictions will be so onerous that no one will. Thank you for your past custom x

Why are they borrowing so much, as announced today? A serious question.

I dont think this goes far enough. Some kind of sandwich board declaring the wearer to be unclean should be employed.

Maybe a cow bell around the neck should also be used. Oh and a big red flag.

Occupy London. Man with sandwich boards saying 'The End is ...

Many years ago I visited regularly the Dominican Republic.

Every tourist/customer got a wristband in the all-in hotels.

No wristband, no free drinks/food.

I am prepare to wear again a wristband here.

I already wear one  a few years ago, when

my Thai wife gave me one, to show  support to King Bhumibol.

Same the world over nominal interest rates. £255 Billion in foreign currency reserves says they can frankly do what they want

That means all foreign tourists allowed in under the special tourist visa must wear GPS wristbands so that their movements can be closely tracked.

Here's a less costly alternative! Clowns!

Everyone on the STV plan must agree to comply with the conditions set out by the Thai government.

Unless you are extremely rich as they do not run the risk of having Covid ......LOL

But he suggested that people who didn't want the country opened were not those suffering in the decimated tourist industry.

so just ignore the majority, sounds familiar

would it not be much safer to financially support those in the tourist industry and keep the borders closed for now

How would they know who the tourists who are supposed to wear bands are vs the expats who are already here ?

They'd be identified, obviously, at Immigration at the airport because they're coming in on STVs!

Peter Denis,

don't understand what confused you in my post 52.

We have all our personal limits of which we are prepare to undergo to be able/allowed to stay here.

I wear before wristbands for different reasons, so I am prepare to do it again.

Of course I can easily understand that you and certainly others, are not prepared to accept this, and will prefer to leave the country.
