Nineteen illegal Chinese arrested at two houses in Chiang Mai - orders from the top

Mystery surrounds what 19 Chinese men and women were doing in Thailand after immigration officers and health officials arrested them at two rented houses in Fa Ham sub-district of Muang, Chiang Mai.

Sanook reported that orders had come from the very top - new RTP chief Pol Gen Suwat Chaengyodsuk via immigration supremo Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang - to investigate the case.

Following initial investigations into the Chinese people's behavior a search warrant was obtained and officials went in on Thursday.

Only 10 of those arrested had passports.

All admitted coming into Thailand through a natural border.

They were charged with illegal entry, breaking emergency decrees and contravening the Covid-19 rules.

They were all taken away to quarantine.

Sanook gave no indication as to what they were doing in Thailand, just the standard line that police were expanding the inquiry.

There was a reported case of a American/European crossing illegally recently from one of the border country.

And they are worried about people coming here legally, quarantine etc. !

The Thai borders appear to have more holes than Swiss cheese, or, more likely, certain people are being paid to "turn a blind eye".

Hope this doesn't get back to China I mean with the mass tourism it wont look good !

No mystery. These are Chinese Belt and Roaders.

Nothing to see here, move along now.

No border is absolutely safe, even in your own country.

These Chinese " Illegals " are just the tip of a very large Iceberg

Thailands Borders have always been porous, and many an Eye has turned Blind, where Drug Trafficking, and other dubious activities have taken place.

Forget Covid entering the Kingdom from legal Foreign Tourists, the main threat is from all the " Wetbacks " that enter on a Daily basis, and in surprisingly large numbers.

I bet they popped over from Cambodia

Normal price 1L Chivas each

Probably waiting on the 150 Chinese to get off a plane that is due and were going to get on it and return to China !
Why send a empty plane back when you can stick some people on it for cash ! ????

Strongly disagree! A Stable Genius built a tremendous, luxurious, golden, strong, beautiful, glorious WALL at the border of Mexico, due to some bad hombres!  And the real success? He got Mexico to PAY for it...!!!!!!!

Comment that adds nothing. A pointless comparison and a pointless post.

Joe

Without order from the top, nothing would have happened. ????

The 'wall' has been there for decades and supported by successive presidents. But, yes, I get the irony.. and Trump is a.... <not allowed to say>

Surprised they'd make a big deal of capturing the Chinese though. Might upset someone.
