Was thinking today about those really fun days over half a century back. Were you one of the crowd that adored their Lambretta or Vespa...?  ????

You obviously know nothing about the craze of that era , plus we rode our bikes facing forward....

I don't think it's the bike he's riding,it's the bike he's riding on!

You can't be a real mod without the lights and mirrors:

Little known fact:  Many of them grew up to be Thai bus drivers...

There were two schools of thought regarding lights and mirrors, my click liked the clean look, no or few add ons....

Had to sell the blue bomber in 2005 after 13 years...still looked good. This was the second one I had; previously I had a white one I had for 7 years (found it abandoned on the side of the road, rehabilitated it and off I went).

By the way, who in the hell would ever buy a Vespa automatic like they sell here now?

There was another scooter other that Vespa or Lambretta. Can't recall the name, but it was derided by the mod side, and laughed at by us.

Our meeting area was behind the Civic Center in Dagenham. Some of the more savvy boys quickly graduated onto ford cars. Some girls liked the back seat of the car rather than the bike.
