How are the bars, restaurants, agogos, massage shops, gentleman clubs and any business doing during covid?

I am not convinced they all will remain closed, but the numbers needed some trimming and forced retirement.

That's a lot of trimming and retirement.

I have no doubt many of the permanent closed massage businesses will eventually reopen, albeit, maybe not at the same location, but it may take 3 to 5 years.

Mongers will trickle in late 2021 and into 2022.

Tourist numbers similar to pre covid, 3 to 5 years.

When do you think Pattaya will get back to pre covid tourist numbers?

October 24th 2021 they will start to return or sooner if the ASQ quarantine requirement is binned.

Is that the mongers, or mainstream tourism?

I'm thinking the recovery will start around mid 2022, but pre covid numbers not until well after that.

A lot will depend on how and when the Thai government procures the vaccine for the people, and in what time frame they can roll it out.

the dirty old men, yes.

I agree.  They will be first back in, and I'm thinking towards the end of 2021.

What about mainstream tourism?

Several of the Soi 6 bars have gone virtual, livestreaming their jiggling bodies while begging for 150 baht drinks, and the girls have gotten spoiled rotten. I went to one this week and even the ugly ones won't do short time. As well, they had removed all the comfy couches where you could slap and tickle while negotiating the upstairs price, and replaced them with VERY unfriendly bar stools. Changing times.

Lol wow

Who's considered mainstream?

Are the dirty old men not Pattaya's mainstream?

Difficult to say, even if you add the dirty younger men.

Russians and Indians with their families and the Chinese tour groups are possibly the mainstream now. Whether they provide the mainstream dollar is another matter.

I really get a laugh at you Guys and your out dated pigeon holing.

Yeah, can't even get the pigeon holes right. Wastes time, however, having to scroll over all that nonsense in hopes of finding a post worth reading.

And in the meantime you surely don't spend any money here to support. 555555

Never judge a book by its cover, particularly in The Canterbury Tales.

Could you please give a few examples of the aforesaid pigeon holing.

Genuine request.

Well it's better than your normal ' end of the world ' comments.

Hardly "End of the World" comments, more like commenting on the reality of the situation.

Not really.

There will be no tourists of any significances coming to Thailand in 2021, reality, or "End of the World" comment?

Define significant amount of tourists.

After the last year i'm sure any that turn up will be appreciated, reality or not?
