Working from home.. when you work in a government job having less bureaucracy and wasting time is definitely a good thing. You can do stuff at the same time during phone meetings  .. meetings by WebEx you can just chuck on a shirt and there it is. Hopefully it can continue into 2021.

Covid, I got married, I quit tinder.....

Oh, good things?

They all sound horrible to me. I added Badoo.  But, to each their own. ????

Seriously though,  good luck with your marriage.

Getting back to Thailand in February before everything got locked down.

Moving from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai.

A sociopath being booted out of the White House.

Having a cystoscopy here in October that gave me an all clear.

My private health fund in Australia kindly suspending membership and premium payments until I return.

Getting very useful medical advice from Sheryl on TV.

Making new friends in Chiang Rai.

I got to continue staying in Thailand and none of my family, not even my younger son who is a doctor, or I became infected.

A lot to be thankful in exchange for a little bit of inconvenience.

The lack of tourists and the aircraft that fly them around and all the pollution and environmental degradation they cause has been good for the planet. Not so good for people employed by the tourism industry and airlines, though. Swings and roundabouts...

Grateful that friends and loved ones are safe. Also that the planet seems to enjoy the break from us!

As many have mentioned: The stock and crypto markets have had a great year! So less/no work while investments have been raking it in. Sure; Bitcoin and Tesla have done hundreds of %, but even if one had just bought the global stock market index one would be up 15% YTD. ???? Not bad for a year which feels like it was straight out of a bad Sci-fi movie. Was there not murder hornets too!?

For sure the stock bubble needs to deflate - so maybe that is why even more money flow to crypto...

Cheers!

I Agree , we were in the US when covid Hit (me and the wife) and and we decided to stay a bit longer , see how covid played out in the safety of the US LOL,

LOL 55555 - We changed up & were going to go back in Aug.....

If we had gone in Feb., which we typically do, we might still be there - or even worse = me back there/US  & my wife compelled to come back here....

Did the US extend visa time limits, given the situation?

13 years ago we made plans to move here to Thailand, and we made that a reality in 2015 with my wife.

During the lockdowns we were making arrangements to return to my homeland, fortunately for us we missed the boat and quarantine was no longer paid by the government, so we would have had to foot the bill and they ended up with Covid-19, still to this day it keeps rearing it's ugly head, whereas here we didn't really see it, because of the lockdowns, that is until recently .

2020 therefore hasn't really affected us, apart from wanting to take our usual annual overseas trip, but I have to admit, I like to socialise a couple of times a week at least, and the lockdowns did my head in, but that's in the past and we are still here as planned, and looking forward to a positive 2021 and onwards, vaccinations and all ????

Compared to other places, this Is a relatively good & safe place to be....

As long as you arent reliant on income from a job or business,in a tourist area
