Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn University has now closed its campus until February 28th and is urging all its staff and students not to leave their lodgings or meet other people during the lockdown period, in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19.

On Wednesday, the university reported that 16 employees, most of whom reside in dormitories on-campus, tested positive for coronavirus and are undergoing treatment.

They aren't allowed to leave their homes. I am waiting for TVF human rights warriors to come out in force and slam the authorities for having the nerve to lock young people in, threatening to report them to Amnesty International and call on UN to put sanctions on Thailand...

This will really hurt the Authorities, as Chula is seen as some kind of bastion of everything Thai.

To have this Virus on Campus , and with the Uni doing its own Research and trials into a Vaccine is also bad

Covid has reached the center of Bangkok.

It's been there for a while... now it's spreading further because of little action to contain it.

How many does it take to create a cluster that spreads? There's 20 of them now anyway, going up. https://www.nationthailand.com/news/30402562

Yes. Amazing what locking up the Burmese migrants to infect themselves in the factories can do.

The dormitories could be a pressure cooker that add luster to the next cluster.

2-4 students per room, but soon they will get bored and socialize on campus.

these are not student dormitories

they are not dormitories at all

The building is for chula staff and are all separate apts with their own bathrooms
