Cop told wife - "I'm off to work" - he ends up going to marry his mistress!

A wife at the center of a drama gripping Thailand told a TV show that her husband - a cop with the Muang Chainat police - said he was just going to work.

Next thing she knew he was marrying his mistress, an employee of a gold shop.

She went to the ceremony with her marriage certificate and the groom's mum (and her child or children it has now emerged).

She filmed live on Facebook. Another clip showed the groom's mum whacking him over the head as monks gave a blessing.

Now the "mia luang" (main and legally married wife) is going to sue the "mia noi" (minor wife or mistress) for 300,000 baht.

"Joy" (an assumed name) went with her lawyer on the Hon Krasae show to be interviewed by presenter Kanchai Kamnertploi or "Num".

She said that she had talked to her husband's mother about him doing things right by her - she agreed with her that this was not right.

She didn't even know that he had a mia noi.

Joy outlined what happened at the ceremony and was angered by her husband's nonchalance and lack of explanation - especially as their child (or children) were there too.

No one seemed to care that she had the marriage certificate. The bride asked her to leave and said let's sort this all out later.

After it all blew up the cop apparently contacted his mother and told her to remove all clips or he would sue her for defamation.

"Before it all happened he said he was going on duty. Whatever you do think clearly about it, he said.

"I'm off to work, I have to do my duty", Joy related before he went and got married to the other woman.

Asked by the presenter if an online post by the mia noi meant she was pregnant, Joy said she didn't know.

The lawyer said they might up the ante on the 300,000 baht damages claim as the couple should have come to an agreement before.

Regarding the cop suing for defamation about the clips the lawyer said that was nonsense. It was not defamatory to post that and the couple in marrying like that had behaved badly.

In another story on Thaivisa today, a police spokesman said it was a private matter but that the policeman could face disciplinary action if one of several matters proved to be true.

If it came from corrupt traffic stops, surely that would mean his 'new' wife is really on a time-share basis.

I am curious as how the wife knew where ceromony was, being able to arrive with the marriage certificate, the child and the mother,  indicates some preplanning occurred.

As usual, the "mia luang" has missed the whole point, i.e. she is not blaming the husband, but the "mia noi", this is typical of an uneducated woman, suffice to say any woman with half a brain would say, you are now my x and can...<deleted> off

Perhaps needs to reflect why he decided that an extra piece of a>>e was required, it would possibly indicate there is something missing between both of them.

What does the mai noi provide which the mia luang does not?? Fun, and what else??

She was already aware of his mia noi so not unlikely that she knew where she lived where the ceremony was being held.

Totally agree, if your out of love with the Mia Luang, then it's time to move on, but be man about it, discuss how your going to support her and the kids best you can, and work out visitation rights.

To want to marry his Mia Noi and not tell his Mia Luang, just goes to show what a man he is, the Mia Luang blaming it all on the Mia Noi is saying to me that she wants the kids to have their father back and for him to provide for her and them, sad for any woman to want to put up with that, but at the same time makes her a big woman for her putting her emotions aside and thinking of the kids, that or she doesn't want to lose face, either way, it's all upside down here in Thailand, either way you see it, the woman have it tougher than the men.

I am off to work. We gonna catch that Redbull heir finally today.

Oh! No <deleted> they say all murders are suicide.

Why she is upset? I thought it was possible in Thailand.

I know one man in Thailand,, who married 4 women and then even go out with another 20 additional women.

Wasn't there a report just recently stating that many in the force were in debt? Chit like this might explain a part of that debt.

just goes to show what a man he is

Can't say I've ever met a real Thai one , they are all fragile man/children!

Sometimes, I just wonder what makes people tick. It is obvious the "new wife" knew about the old wife, as she did not seem to be shocked, and said let's sort this out later? One would think it would have given her reason for pause!

I wonder if "Mr. Sensitivity" ever considered getting a divorce first, or discussion this with his actual wife? It would have certainly been a kinder and gentler approach. I guess some of us have a different concept of respect and consideration for others. I mean you spend years living with someone, and then this? Obviously things were not working out. So, you have a talk, and let her know how you feel. That is what real men do. Owning up to your actions and dealing with others in a respectful manner is just something that some people consider important, and some don't.
