On the last trip I had one of the inadequate man-children driving one of those hi-end Toyota people carriers deliberately undertake and pull in front and brake check me in the outside lane when I was doing a steady 120kph in traffic. I am going to assume that he got annoyed with something because his brain cannot function like a normal adult and had to do something to 'prove' his masculinity.

 

They will never solve the problems on the road here mainly because their face-saving and groveling culture prevents it, and because they are simply incompetent, corrupt, lazy and useless in general.

i see many foreigners driving worse than locals here
some assume everything should be like back home, others assume they can do what they want, and at worst pay a small fine

and silly comments about how "they" will now drive even faster.........????‍♂️

from what i read in OP
the limit will be increased from 90 to 120kph
only on roads WITH 4 LANES
the highways have been improved over the years and widened with more lanes added
they are just updating the limits to match the type of highway

i do hope they increase to other roads too
i drive on highway 21, its limit is 90
but everyone does around 120
nobody really goes screaming along and those who do, would do so regardless what the limit was
but as 90 is really slow especially when road is empty
once you are driving 95 kph, you might aswell do 120kph
as speeding just a little does not give you just a little ticket
increasing limit to 120kph
gives everyone no reason to speed

and finally something is being done about the sunday drivers who hog the outside lane

Incredible information and ideas on how to make the roads safe, great post. Raise the speed limit to speed up Thailands genocide plan 

They should probably oil the roads to reduce friction and improve efficiency. I don't even know how surprised I'd be if they trialed that.

Multiple speed limits for different types of vehicles on the same road with drivers of the mentality of the local demographic... what could go wrong. Good job, Thailand.

As far as I can tell driving in the outside lane is normal here. It took me a while to get used to but the fact the left lane is so bad made me understand it a bit better.

90kph / 55mph on a motorway is pretty slow IMHO. Most countries in the world allow at least 100kph and alot 120kph.

Just puttting it into perspective. You could reduce the speed limit to 60kph but it woudn't lessen any of the carnage.
