Thailand reports 2,438 coronavirus cases, daily record of 11 deaths

Dead is dead, should be zero if they were treated appropriately with what has been learned over the past year and they got them to a hospital in a fashionable time and not 5 days later as in a few cases so far.  Additionally, one has to wonder how many may have been even sick for a longer time when patients were sent away and untested because hospitals lacked room and tests.

1500 people die every day in Thailand. This virus is merely culling the old and sick.

Horrible numbers, I think we're going to range in the late 2000's for another day or so before unfortunately dog legging up to take us into the 3000's.    Hospital beds going to be at critic

I look forward to the day when they stop reporting this, day in, day out, we get it !

I guess they report it because it is news. Some would say important news it seems others may not.

So your okay with those who have not lived a full life already dying, good to know.  Hope you survive should you become infected and not end up with long covid either.  Tell that to the family of the 29 year old e-sports gamer who died yesterday.  Tell them he was culled because he was obese.

What about the several under 40 who just died from Covid?  Terrible thing to say.

What a truly horrific thing to say.

I sicerely hope your lack of empathy doesn't come back to haunt you personally but I think many would also argue if it did, it would truly be karma.

This is a tiresome argument. Michael DeBakey continued to treat patients until he was 99 years old. I'll bet in his last year he contributed more to mankind than you have done throughout the entirety of your life.

I guess you did not see this:

A surprise in today's COVID deaths --  eight of the eleven are in the 20s to 40s age group, though most had various preexisting conditions including obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. Most of the fatalities lately have been in their 60s to 80s..

A government spokeswoman added that the final fatality on the list was a young woman from Bangkok who was 25 week pregnant upon her death

And what about the innocent people who may die from catching covid from you and your cavalier attitude to the whole pandemic?
Do you think your awful attitude would change if you were found to be asymptomatic and had infected all the people you had met whilst 'Got things to do and people to see and meet and beer to drink.?'

Gamble with your own life as much as you want but you have no right to risk others.

The written word may appear unsympathetic , but is it incorrect

This highly contagious B.1.1.7 UK variant is devastating Thailand now.

It is heartbreaking.

Yes it is. Or would you like to tell the parents of the 21 year old British girl who died with no pre-existing conditions and at a VERY young age

Such a very unsympathetic, and uncaring cavalier in nature response.  Tell that to the family of the young lady who was one of the 11 today who was 25 weeks pregnant.

Guess you're choosing 'getting on with dying'. Whatever works for you. For those so concerned and high risk/vulnerable/afraid...stay locked in your homes. Don't go out. Have food and essentials delivered. Don't see family and friends. What kind of existence is that? Might work for a few but not the vast majority of this overpopulated planet.

The drop in confirmed cases could be due to the "weekend effect" .  You can see similar drops in  confirmed cases on the weekend in reported confirmed numbers of other countries.

Thanks.  good to see someone’s brain is working.
Most western countries are turning around their tests in under 24hrs.
Thailand is saying up to 4 days to get results. We really don’t know what day the current positive tests were done on.

Indeed, its heartbreaking not only for those suffering seriously but also for the economic damage its doing to so many people now and in the future.

Watching this helplessly is all we can do, the powers that be appear to have relinquished control to provincial governors instead and washed their hands of the lockdown decisions that are needed now.

Online petition seeks Anutin's exit as Public Health Minister over Covid-19 crisis

An online group, "MorJaMaiThon" [Doctors can’t stand anymore], has launched a campaign demanding the resignation of Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

"The campaign, "Call for Minister of Public Health to resign due to the failure to resolve the Covid-19 outbreak", was launched at midnight on Friday on Change.org.

Within a few hours -- as of 9.30am on April 25 -- the campaign had drawn more than 45,000 supporters.

The campaigners stated that over the past one year, the Covid-19 outbreak had proved Anutin did not have enough capacity to control the spread of the virus through proper policy-making, resource management, vaccine procurement, or building confidence among medical personnel."

There are always exceptions to the overwhelming factual statistics. Every death is a family tragedy, not national and international news.

True Malfeasance was good enough to remove others and convict them in absentia due to fleeing the country.  Should be good enough to remove him and prosecute him as well as the rest of his friends in Government.

Still only a mortality rate of 0.5 percent.

Only when you belong to that 0.5 percent will it significantly matter apparently.

But it won't because the puppet master won't let it.

It's certainly NOT out of control. Just stay at home if you are afraid.

If it was in control then we wouldn't be seeing these numbers, I think we can assume its clearly out of control.

This has nothing to do with 'getting on with dying' and everything to do with looking after others. Selfish attitudes like yours is why this pandemic has got so out of control. The idea of staying locked in my home has nothing to do with fear and everything to do with the costs required for living in a civilised society that works TOGETHER to overcome adversities.

I am super low risk but will gladly give up a few social freedoms if it means I am not responsible for spreading this horrendous virus and putting others at risk.

It's called empathy.

Just one question to Thai Hotel Operators network... Do you still want quarantine to be scrapped, borders and unrestricted travel?

What a truly revolting statement.

you call the death of an unborn child culling? The poor pregnant girl who died probably had maternal onset issues that disappear after pregnancy and totally unrelated to her general health.
