PHUKET: Phuket officials are drawing up battle plans in anticipation of a spike in infections on the island after Phuket Provincial Public Health Office (PPHO) Chief Dr Kusak Kukiattikoon confirmed that both the Delta and Beta variants of COVID-19 have now been found among infected people in Phuket.

 

The news was revealed at the Phuket Communicable Disease Control Committee meeting yesterday (July 9), chaired by Phuket Vice Governor Phichet Panapong.

 

Joining the meeting were fellow Vice Governor Vikrom Jakthee, Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO, or OrBorJor) President Rewat Areerob, Vachira Phuket Hospital Director Chalermpong Sukontapol and Col Sermphan Sirikong, Deputy Commander of Phuket Provincial Police.

sandbox / litterbox is falling apart its all about money

Not only found amongst people who are from Phuket, but then now two children who traveled to the sandbox with their family.  You have to wonder who the brain trust was that decided travelling was tantamount to keeping the virus at bay.  Yet "What will happen will happen", and "What happens in the sandbox stays in the sandbox", well apparently not as a few ministers were on a flight returning from Phuket which had someone onboard who tested positive for Covid after the flight and they are now in quarantine just like Prayut himself.

...and only four days to go until the Samui, Phangan, Tao one opens.

What is in the sandbox, stays in the sandbox.. so isolate the island that all kinds of Covid stay there and don't spread further. Make it dark red

Aye there's the rub, never to happen as it will mean they have admitted defeat.  Instead they will do other things to save face and claim it was based upon the emergency decree and the need to secure the countries borders from imminent threats which they will never disclose, ie...national security reasons.

Just to show that the authorities has lost control of the pandemic and can't even isolate their pride and joy project, how they can now tell a would be tourist to come over knowing that their island is no better place to be than India right now?...

Do these Vice governors govern all the vice in Phuket do they?Shouldn't they be put in gaol?

after reading the whole article looking at the measures they are proposing for 10 infections

but of course they wouldn't know the truth if it hit them like covid

 

in other reports, it is becoming increasingly obvious that the chinese vaccines do little to stop the delta mutation variant from spreading - another concern is that it is infecting younger people who are getting sick - very disturbing 

So everyone vaccinated with Sinovac is not protected against the Delta variant & everyone who got the AstraZeneca vax is not protected against the Beta variant. Sounds like an ideal holiday destination to me!

Ohhh dear... I wanna go home !!!!

All that Phuket needs now is for Gamma to touch down, and the Island will have a full set of Variants.

With all the previous deception, and outright lies about the Safety of Phuket, and the safety that the Tourists would be guaranteed, it looks very much as if this is coming back to bite them in the A@@e.

It will be interesting to read some of the Travel Writers comments on their stay in Phuket when it first opened.

Gonna cost a Bob or Two me thinks for all the positives.

The current sandbox scheme is Plan A.

 

At the time they were drawing up Plan A, there should have been a completely different team  drawing up Plan B.

 

Plan B is the What if Plan.

 

What if this happens doesn't happen, or that does happen and should not have, or Covid sneaks in under the radar as it has done within 10 days.

 

What do we do IF...........

Neither Prayuth, Anutin or the Phuket governor seem to have a Plan B.

And of course they weren't even tested like everyone else that is entering.  I think the VIP guy even had his Sinovac shots.
