Yes, you are correct, and I was wrong to infer they'd use the existing facility.

Hi, I am an Australian living in Isaan country. I see this as a political stunt by our Embassy. I see this message at 8 am today. If I register I have to get to Bankok tonight for a maybe jab tomorrow. Out of the question for me and I suspect all other Ozzies living in Isaan country. Good luck to those living in Bangkok, if they actually get this info. I am going to send a message to the Embassy telling my thoughts on this matter. I suggest all Ozzies do the same.

This is all just smoke and mirrors to pretend they, the various embassies and the Thai government, are doing something good for their citizens. I bet the 'limited' number will be very low, in the hundreds, but the events unfolding will make good PR.

 

Good luck to all who manage to get jabbed, but I for one have no intention of visiting the covid epicenter from afar. Go for a vaccine, come back with covid, not to mention the impending provincial travel restrictions.

I have registered approximately 40 minutes ago and now I’m questioning why I have done so. I have just read this article which relates to the Astrazeneca vaccine. I am aged 54 and this article indicates that you should be over 60 to receive this vaccine. Begs the question of whether I should turn up or not????????????????????????????

This to me is the short comings of the Australian Embassy, if you all don't know that they don't give a rats about you being an expat, then you do now, i.e. your a burden living off of them, regardless whether you paid taxes all of your life and possibly still are as I have for the last 5 years, in other words our use by dates were up as soon as we left, but I knew when I left that I would do the same as I did when I was there, i.e. not rely on them until I reach the old age pension age, then I will put my hand out and say, cough up, it's my time, although I don't need to rely on them by claiming the old age pension, but I will as it's my right.

 

Also as mentioned in other posts, I forwent the AZ shot on 7 June, my decision and have booked myself in for the Moderna shot, just have to do what everyone is has been doing since the pandemic, i.e. continue to social distance, wear a mask and keep those hands clean, suffice to say I do not looking at Covid-19 as a death wish as it's survival rate is higher than it's death rate by miles...........

 

I believe you would have a good argument and would push the envelope so to speak:

 

As a permanent resident of Australia, you generally can:

• remain in Australia indefinitely.
• work and study in Australia.
• enrol in Australia's national health scheme, Medicare.
• apply for bank loans to buy property.
• sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residence.
• apply for Australian citizenship, if eligible.

Easier said than done. Presently it is practically. Impossible to get the AZ vaccine in most provinces. Where can one get this vaccine?
