Popular Post snoop1130 Posted July 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2021 BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s government is expediting talks with producers on the development and procurement of second-generation COVID-19 vaccines, which can effectively combat new coronavirus strains. Government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has approved a plan to purchase 120 million doses of vaccines next year, in addition to the 105.5 million to be acquired this year. He said the CCSA is seeking cooperation with other countries in the transfer of technology to produce vaccines, including those using the inactivated virus, viral vector and mRNA methods, and is supporting research into a prototype vaccine that is effective in reducing the chances of virus mutations. According to Mr Anucha, vaccines currently available for free are manufactured by AstraZeneca, Sinovac and, in the future, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson, while the public will have to purchase those produced by Sinopharm and Moderna. Meanwhile, the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) has brokered talks with Zuellig Pharma to import the Moderna vaccine for sale. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-07-20 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1 3

New generation vaccines, I mean really? Might be semi plausible if they had managed to get even a half sensible amount of first generation ones that work. Even more plausible if alluded to vaccines are already approved and in mass production, which I suspect is not yet the case. 3
Popular Post Doctor Tom Posted July 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2021 (edited) This crowd are a bunch of fantasists. Let's face it, they haven't got a clue and they are running around in circles trying to do goodness only knows what. It's all platitudes and promises and worst of all, at least for UK citizens, the UK Embassy buys into all this nonsense. For once, the Mayor of Pattaya and the Governor of Chon Buri Province seem to be the only sensible voices around, but they are getting nowhere fast with a Central Government, that is almost totally fixated on Bangkok. . Popular Post ikke1959 Posted July 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2021 Good they start talking already.. Last year they were talking in September with Astra and look at the results. Same for Sputnik and Johnson &Johnson, talking but no ordering and same for Moderna... They talk , delay talk, make a committee and talk but no actions. 5 1

The absurdity reaches new heights. Seeking contracts and supplier for vaccines which don't exist except in the most experimental stages. What the heck, caution is thrown to the winds. Experimental vaccines for all - the benefits outweigh the risks (until they don't). I wonder at what point you're told the patent holder of the genes in your body expects payment or servitude. <laughs> 2 1

Pretty soon the time it takes to bring a new vaccine to market and full approval and licensing will fall from 7 to 10 years down to 7 to 10 weeks. 1 1
Popular Post Bkk Brian Posted July 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2021 Negligence at best, months ago they stated they were in talks to procure mrna vaccines and others, those talks went nowhere aside from further talks now. How many more announcements of talks can there be until contracts are signed and the Thai population gets what it should have had weeks ago. 5
Popular Post Caldera Posted July 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2021 No matter what they do now, other countries are already in the queue and Thailand will be a generation of vaccines behind by the time they will finally arrive. That's just a sad fact. 9

Popular Post phills2k1 Posted July 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2021 Oh good, another exciting report about how they're expediting talks to procure vaccines. Looking forward to tomorrow's article where we learn that they're expediting the expedited talks to potentially procure vaccines at some point in the coming months, which will potentially be delivered in (they hope) an expedited manner in Q1 to Q4 2022 3
Popular Post Dogmatix Posted July 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2021 More hot air. They talked with AZ for nearly a year and had a licensee on their doorstep but failed to secure sufficient doses from them. The only vaccine they are good at procuring is $3 doses of Sinovac for $18. Go figure. 7 1

Popular Post wasabi Posted July 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2021 Another farcical face saving maneuver. They completely missed the boat on current effective vaccines so now they want to say look we skipped those so you could have these new fancy vaccines -- Pay no attention that thousands got sick and died while we ran in circles for the past year and a half. Furthermore the lockdowns are buffoonery at this point. Always partial and reactive. They seem more interested in getting the latest temperature checking apparatus than actually doing anything meaningful. Get vaccines and unlock the country. Covid is not going away. Using the existing vaccines of the day is the only way to save the economy and country. 6
Popular Post Soikhaonoiken Posted July 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2021 If all these talks, and procurement, and signing of contracts for vaccine was true, Thailand would be a wash with vaccine, But are we.... NO, because its all talk and no action.... 3 1
Popular Post tingtong Posted July 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2021 Let's add up where the propaganda stands in the moment: 105 million imaginary gen 1 vaccine + 120 million of imaginary gen 2 vaccine = Approx a total 5 million AZ and Sinovac, a few partially vaccinated by Sinopharm for approx 1500thb for that "privilege" and a promise of Moderna 3-6 months from now with a flexible price point, where the only constant seem to be the must pay hospital fee- doctor fee- insurance fee holy trinity. Now we can go back dreaming, knowing everything is good in the capable hands of Prayuth and co. 7

kwonitoy Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 So Thailand wisely avoided the gen 1.0 vaccines rollout to protect the populace, with an eye to be first in line for the gen 2.0 vaccine which don't exist (except in their minds) and nobody in the world is working on. Oh and they will also import this wishful technology to begin in country manufacturing, and so save a grateful world. ???????????? 2

Popular Post newnative Posted July 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2021 Talk, talk, talk. Where are the 105 million vaccines 'procured this year'? 5

Popular Post Isaan sailor Posted July 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2021 Nah, put the investment into the space program. Probably easier to accomplish, then vaccinating the public with something that actually works. 1 2
