What the ?  Why ?  Of course they still have sinovac to use, how stupid of me to think otherwise.

Mixing of vaccines has been formally discouraged by the world health organization!

That could prove to be a problem for anyone wanting to return to the UK. Just announced from Monday anyone double vaccinated with MDA or FDA approved covid vaccination's will not have to self isolate for 10 days. Chinese and Russian not approved so will effect anyone who's had a mixture of the two I would think!!

I travel to the UK regularly and as I'm sure we are all aware, the UK does not accept Sinovac or Sinopharm vaccines.

I for am not aware that “the UK does not accept Sinovac or Sinopharm vaccines” nor can I find any official reference to what that means.

I would be grateful if you would point me in the right direction.

Would this vaccination cocktail be recognised in Western countries is you had to travel?

Some countries, like Canada, have been mixing AZ and Moderna, and recognize mixed vaccines. However, Sinovac will be problematic since it hasn't been recognized in most Western countries. Also, according to someone who's applying for a Chinese visa, China is only accepting Chinese vaccines.

Right now those eligible for vaccination are people aged 60 and above who reside in Thailand.

But you have to go to Bangkok to get it.... twice

For other people in Bangkok not wanting to go to Bang Sue or for people in the provinces register at a hospital vaccination center or your regular hospital. You will be given a date for vaccination, turn up and get the job done.

Vaccinated with what?

I have it on good authority that the peasantry 'up north' aren't wanting this Sinovac <deleted> - they're declining the vaccine in large numbers as they know it's garbage based on the word on the street.

They're waiting for AZ.....

Didn't look like that at Buriram football stadium tuther week when I got my Sinovac.

Highly unlikely, but depends on the country as Sinovac is not WHO approved and has no published Stage 3 trial results. There is no way that vaccine is being used on me.

False.

Who approved Sinovac on June 1st.

WHO today validated the Sinovac-CoronaVac COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use, giving countries, funders, procuring agencies and communities the assurance that it meets international standards for safety, efficacy and manufacturing. The vaccine is produced by the Beijing-based pharmaceutical company Sinovac.

I'm getting the astrazeneca today... wish it were synovac.  I trust it more after all the study I have done.  But a free vaccine is a free vaccine.

Half true. It's been discouraged for individuals doing it on their own initiative. Not when it's part of a public health program.

Whether on the initiative of an individual or a government, if the mixture is dangerous it remains dangerous in all cases!

WHO are concerned that Thailand wants to mix vaccines they have stated it’s not advisable as they do not have enough detail of the Chinese vaccine I for one would not have a mixed vaccine .I cannot understand why they continue to use the Chinese vaccine can only think Brown Envelopes has something to do with it .

No suprise here. Bottom of the barrel vac for bottom of the barrel people. We knew this would be the case. I was very suprised I got AZ. No way I would take Sinovac. My choice so keep your comments about my choice to yourselves please.

This morning I got my first shot of Sinovac out here in the boonies of Phitsanulok. The AZ will follow in a few weeks. I was always taught by my father that he didn't run a restaurant and no complaining about what was on the dinner table. I applied that logic here. And I have to say that the medical folks on the ground are doing a great job under the circumstances.

You sure you're not taking the Pissandalook?

Fight like hell to get what isn't here?

Point taken, let me rephrase it.

If I were expat in Thailand and was offered sinovac, I would look towards my home country and see if it was possible to get the mRNA vaccines there. Would be expensive with the flights and all, but might be worth it.

I'm not saying sinovac is a bad choice because it's better with some protection than 0.

Whatever the truth of your statement, you claimed that it was validated by the WHO's advice.. Clearly, that is not the case.

Is that why there is currently a spike in infections in UK?

No, it's because all the precautions have been lifted.

Is that why, other than yesterday's figures, the last eight days have shown cases reducing quite dramatically?

If World Health are saying do not Mix Vaccines why is Thailand pushing for a Mix dose ??????? https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/who-warns-against-mixing-matching-covid-vaccines-2021-07-12/ This is what has been put up for all to see ??????????????????????????????. Sinavac has been used on frontline Health workers and the success has not been great ,but better to have had that over nothing ????? ,you need to make sure that all get to see the response from WHO.

The WHO has stated that mix and match based upon research is acceptable.

Oh Joy!!!  I'm sure all the outlying province folks are going to be overjoyed to learn the Thai government is going to grace them with Sinovac doses -- IF they can actually find any place where they live that's now giving vaccinations to foreigners.

And hey guys, what about the 150,000 U.S. Pfizer doses supposedly set aside for age 60+ foreign nationals in Thailand?  Have those, arriving tomorrow, suddenly evaporated somehow???

Yes, thai government selling it for 4400 a jab, need submarines you know, even if no one can drive them.

I know the chief of navy in Bang Sare, totally useless!

IMO (international maritime organization) is not here, have you seen a Thai Captain sailing world wide? The land of idiots… The want to explore the space also now ????????????????????

Well, Australia does deny entry to Australians, if I’m not mistaken……

They don't deny entry, you are mistaken, you just have to get in the queue and wait your turn, but you are not denied entry.
