Easy to understand why. Every country buy vaccine not because it is respectful or well-known or approved by respectful news sources and international organizations. Every country just want to defeat COVID. Yes - it is that simple. And what we see in the biggest pfizered country (USA) ? We see exponential growth with about 150k new COVID cases per day. That is why Thailand is buying Sinovac from the world leader in fighting COVID and in talks to buy Sputnik V.

At present the U.S. is having a spike, but the 7 day average is around 84,000 and that's only been in the last month.   That's a lot better than 250,000 daily cases back in January.  Roughly 60% of the shots are Pfizer, 40% Moderna with a bit of J&J in there.  This according to the CDC.

The US is really not a part of the topic, but since you brought it up, the rise in cases is primarily among the unvaccinated.   Here's a little information to clear it up for you:

  • The hospitalization rate among fully vaccinated people with COVID-19 ranged from effectively zero (0.00%) in California, Delaware, D.C., Indiana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Vermont, and Virginia to 0.06% in Arkansas. (Note: Hospitalization may or may not have been due to COVID-19.)
  • The rates of death among fully vaccinated people with COVID-19 were even lower, effectively zero (0.00%) in all but two reporting states, Arkansas and Michigan where they were 0.01%. (Note: Deaths may or may not have been due to COVID-19.)

I read, 'it is the Government that is the problem'!

A pity the guy had to waste his time to come up against this wall of stony faces......

The chair of Thailand's Thonburi Healthcare Group (THG) said on Wednesday that a deal to import 20 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine was unlikely to happen, despite his earlier claims that a deal was close.

So it was all talk and no substance... bit like Sino-something.

Shameful beyond all words.

Well the price of his company shares rose substantially after announcing he had the vaccine deal in the bag and was signing the contract imminently, and the ccontract was subsequently not signed. Did he make the claim of nearly being ready to sign the contract for the vaccine in order to jack up his share price or in good faith, that is the question that needs answering. It would of interest to review the buy and sell volumes of company stock before and after the announcement to see whether this was a deliberate stock exchange manipulation rather than a genuine effort to buy vaccines.

So, no private hospitals ?

The vaccine is not available in abundance at the moment; there is a shortage of vaccine. If you want to vaccinate the entire population of a country so quickly and effectively as possible, it makes sense to have a superordinate body that coordinates the distribution according to priorities and to urgency from people. Here this superordinate body seems to have done poorly. Unfortunately.

Guys he clearly gives you the reason quote "Our problem is that we are unable to import it because it has to come through a government agency,"  Read the last two words please.

It's better not to believe what a Thai "tycoon" promises in the first place.

Broken promises AKA lies are the first requirement of budding tycoons.

This fact was known to many of us with no connection whatsoever to the medical profession. How could you not have known this or do you think you are special and the rules don’t apply?

(Rhetorical question alert)

Thailand is battling its biggest COVID-19 outbreak yet, and has been racing to secure vaccines. Last month, THG Chairman Boon Vanasin said talks to clinch a deal with BioNTech was nearing conclusion, but both Pfizer and BioNTench said they were not in talks with THG

So who were the "middlemen" ???

Someone wanting a cut of the action... Thaliands famous or infamous monopoly.

"No it's the Gov agency taking the first cut of the action."

Spot on.

I am pretty sure the SET will hold some kind of Investigation into Insider Dealing and Stock manipulation over this.

Everybody made a mint when it was announced that this Hospital Group could purchase Pfizer as Shares rose by over 8 %

Then sell short again on the report " sorry cannot do ".

Of course no wrong doing will be found, but the smell is awful.

I have read that half of the 1.5 million doses of Pfizer will be going to doctors and nurses and front line workers. Now as a expat over 70, I totally agree with this, but this will be their 3rd shot. I am guessing that their first 2 shots were Sinovac,, does this mean that the government admits that Sinovac is basically useless ??

Will Pfizer result in less deaths than those that have received (and continue to do so) Sinopharm/Sinovac/Astra Zucchini vaccines ?

At most its been proven if you got covid yet  being vaccinated it will most likely keep you out of the hospital or better still away from the Wat with your photo next to a shiny box.

Not sure about the conclusion.

But it does beg the question, what about the ~ 5 mm regular people with 2X sinovac?  Do they also need a Pfizer booster? Has the regime ordered 1 dose of a booster for every 2 doses of sinovac they've ordered?

This is the problem when you don't have a plan. Or you do, but it changes daily.

Would not be surprised to find out later that China has a deal with the Thailand government not to buy western vaccines. Donations seem to be ok along with the AZ being produced in Thailand. They have done nothing but talk about buying Pfizer and Moderna for the past 4 months but something always stops it from happening.

That is why vaccine manufacturers have said they will only deal with governments. They don’t want profiteering going on.

You believe in the good of pharmaceutical companies?

I suggest you google for "leaked Pfizer contract".

They abuse their supply power to the max and a PRIVATE company that signs such a contract is doomed.

Pfizer takes basically no responsibility for anything, guarantees nothing in terms of supply, does not allow cancellation if they do not fulfill, not changing for other vaccine etc.etc.

Non disclosure clauses for 10 to 30 years....

Absolute gagging contracts.
