Do you object to being asked if you’ve been vaccinated?

I’ve come across a number of articles, ‘letters to the editor’ and online comments regarding objections to being asked if one has been vaccinated,

 

How do forum members feel about this.

 

For the record, I myself don’t have a problem with the question and always respond honestly.

I would politely reply whatever my interlocutor wants to hear.

So far, until it's obligatory to have jab, it's not anybodies interest.

I wouldn't object to being asked if I got the vaccine or not.  Fairly easy to say Yes or No or It's none of your business.

Interesting how many people there are - both on this site and out there in the real world - who seem to have a 'Me Me Me' attitude that all but excludes the possibility of any concept of social responsibility.

 

If there's been one great social/cultural movement over the last 18 months in Western countries it's the weakening of exaggerated individualism.

I am somewhat responsible for 6 people in Thailand registering or being jabbed.

I tell them, I'm waiting for those more at risk to have theirs first.

Thailand's managed 7% in the first year, if I wait until 90%, that gives me another 10 years.

I would have no problem under any circumstances.

In what circumstance are we talking about?

There are already places where you have to show proof of vaccine to go to restaurants, bars, shows etc.

 

As far as it being "none of your business" that depends.

On this forum, absolutely, nobody can catch COVID from my replies on here.

But any time I am face to face with someone it is indeed their business.

Lying about your vaccination status in a face to face situation; that would be immoral, unethical, effed up.

Why are they asking?

 

Are they maintaining social distancing when asking?

 

Are they wearing a mask?

 

 

Unless it is a man with a gun (RTP/RTA) or immigration, I'd probably politely ignore the question feigning deafness or point to headphones, or say "no understand".

 

 

Most people here are currently half-vaxxed.

 

Answering honestly might come across badly (half-a$$ed). Or require a complex answer about which vaccine, when the first shot was and when the second one is scheduled.

I would like to be asked, but whomever asks may not like the answer.

It would be nice to give a positive answer, unfortunately at present it would be negative.

Don't really care who asks or why. I would answer honestly as I do to all questions. Don't really understand why answering any question honestly is an issue.

I not only do not object to that question, I welcome it. 

However, I don't think just a "yes" or "no" answer is sufficient. I think you should be required to show proof of a vaccination.

I don't mind. The state of the vaccination program often comes up, something people are curious or even anxious about. I see no reason not to answer, or not truthfully.

totally agree .....   as an American you should have been one of the 1st to receive the Pfizer donated vaccine,  the US in charge should have made that a pre-condition.  imo

I have absolutely no objection to being asked and to be honest, I can't see why anyone would object. 

 

Whether you've been vaccinated or not, just tell them, "Yes I have," or, "No, I haven't."

I have no problem with frontline medical personnel getting their shots but … I will report any progress this week or lack thereof … Today some in Chiang Mai, having been told previously that they were successfully registered, are being told that their registration is faulty. Whether an individual or a website mass mailing issue, .I do not know.
