Daily News reported that Pol Col Pongphan Nakkhwa of the Kumphawapi police in Udon in Thailand's north east was informed by neighboring forces of an ongoing chase entering his jurisdiction.

Police from the Non Sa-At station and Highway Police informed him that a man in a Ford Ranger pick-up was shooting in the air and out his back window as he drove along the Mitraphap Highway towards Kumphawapi.

When the man entered Phandon sub-district he doubled back to the highway and arrived at a branch of the Krung Thai bank as the police called to the public to take cover.

Pol Capt Jirapong Phuthamma decided to smash a window to get to the out of control man.

Shirtless, the 26 year old gave himself up.

On the passenger seat police recovered a Derya MK 10 high powered shotgun and a Sig Sauer P320 SP 9mm handgun along with ammunition and spare magazines.

The suspect was incoherent, sweating and was clearly drugged up beyond all recognition.

He was laughing to himself as he spoke. It was no surprise when a drugs test came back positive with a purple result.

He eventually admitted to taking 20 Ya Ba tablets (methamphetamine mixed with caffeine) the previous night and was on his way to see his wife in the morning.

His father was called - a former kamnan or local official.

He admitted that the weapons were his and legally registered. He kept them in his pick-up. He appeared to suggest that the vehicle was his, notes ASEAN NOW.

He said it was lucky that the police had stopped his son.

Later Udon Thani provincial police chief Maj-Gen Pisanu Unhaseri took over the interrogation but the suspect was till rambling incoherently muttering something about a bank and sorting out a problem.

The suspect has so far  been charged with weapons offences and is in the hands of the police.

  • Instead should be punished too. Such weapons with ammunition stored in a pickup!! Can't believe this is legal even in Thailand.

Very lucky no one injured , now put him away for a long time, he is an obvious danger to the population.....I hope his father ,a former kamnan has no influence to interfere in the case.

That's a fine penit extension on the left.   Remember that next time Somchai in his D-Max cuts you off and you want to flash your lights or give him the finger.

Where the hell do these clowns get these weapons from ?

The public and police are lucky this guy didn't start shooting.

Bangkok Hilton 10 years straight, that's the maximum for this penalty, no doubt he will get the minimum being 1 year because daddy will have friends in high reaching places and some dosh changing hands.

His father should accompany him for at least 3 of those years for stating that he left them in "his" pickup.

The wife should take the opportunity to get out of there quick smart unless she has a few loose ones up top, as it could be here next time.

Check out the noise it makes below:

A correct date/time on these dash-cams is more an exception than the rule.

And that this video is not from 2019 is very obvious, isn't it? Does one need a hint?

Good restraint technique in the photo, beats kneeling on his neck for nigh on 8 minutes.

I would suggest a knee would have been more suited.

This is where I live

Can you lose your licence for driving under the influence of drugs?

Your driving licence will also show you've been convicted for drug driving. This will last for 11 years. The penalty for causing death by dangerous driving under the influence of drugs is a prison sentence of up to 14 years.

Back to the drug driving supporters who thinks alcohol is bad

Parents know whats up.

This doesn't just happen overnight.

20 Yaba pills, jeez!

Crazy <deleted>.  His wife's most likely an addict also.

Addicts tend to hang with each other.

Nobody who supports the abolition of prohibition supports a free-for-all, on the contrary, the insanity of prohibition makes drugs a vast global criminal problem not a mangeable health problem, like alcohol.

Any reasonable person can understand that prohibition of anything that most people want to experiment with, is a fools errand.

As the prohibition on the drug ethanol (booze) proved.

It's a deadly highly addictive drug, and their moral BS failed utterly to end it.

You can gussy it up in 18 yo malts and fine wines (which I love) but dont kid yourselves.

And booze scientifically and medically matches -and in social discord, far exceeds- the harms of Meth (yaba) refer to the Lancet if in any doubt.

Time to legalise the drugs and criminalise the anti-social behaviour.

Drugs are drugs, alcohol is a deadly and highly addictive drug. So why are we not all alcohol addicts? There is no difference in the addiction ratios between opium or meth, or alcohol, it's all confected geo-political fear driven garbage, not science.

Singapore allowed Opium dens until that generation (my ex-wifes' grandfather) died out, then hung people the next day.

Utter chicken-little <deleted>.

Unless he was going to his estranged wife to do the usual kill and run away routine, with the support of his father, that seems so popular in Thailand

Just confirming your statement.

And no surgical masks everywhere in 2019.

In the USA, I am quite sure that this incident would have ended

up much different. Bang, Bang, okay, folks, show is over, nothing to see here.

just another dead yaba druggie.

Geezer
