There may also be issues about whether any of the injuries were sustained after the intruder was no longer a threat. What the wife's relationship with the intruder was, what contact she had with him in the days leading up to the incident, or if she played any role during or after the incident also need to be investigated.

 

In my opinion, this high profile case is extremely complex, and with the death of the intruder, it will probably be even more difficult to solve. I don't envy the police their job. The police appear to be proceeding in a methodical and thorough manner, and I think the peanut gallery potshots about the job they have done so far have very little merit.

Surely by writing in such a rational manner about the complexity of the case you are in violation of the spirit of this forum?

 

The ‘peanut gallery’ have two of their favourite targets in sight: the morality of Thai women and the incorruptibility and ability (or lack thereof) of the Thai police. Allow them their fun!

Rich man kills him after finding both of them together.. police called and woman knows nothing as was in bed drunk now she still has rich husband and 300.000 baht hidden that she was given and to her its belongs to her now because she was running away but some of that money will have to go in a brown envelope

Well I hope the Swiss guy has a good legal team as he will need it. It seems like there maybe was some connection between the wife and the deceased as we are hearing conflicting stories. But we need to remember we are in the LOS.   Amazing that the Police are charging the deceased, how can they as he is DEAD or have they overlooked this factor!

Like some other comments, I feel maybe the plan back fired and the wrong person ended up dead but we probably will never know!

So the way I see it is that the deceased Thai guy was in love with the Swiss guy's wife, and she managed to convince him to sell the land so that she could move away from the husband with this guy. 

 

The land sale shouldn't be too hard to confirm, e.g. when it was sold, the amount paid for and who he sold it to, i.e. if there was an actual sale of land.

 

Once the above can be established, then they can look at any deposits/withdrawals that put in/taken out of his bank account, as well as any transfer/s that he might have made to the Swiss guy's wife.

 

She dumps the deceased guy after cleaning him up of his money, then makes up many excuses, e.g. my husband will kill me, I changed my mind, etc, etc. The deceased gets both pi$$ed and pi$$ed off and comes up with of a brain storm idea amongst his moment of rage and then decides to go around with his gun demanding his money back, he doesn't care if he spills the beans to the farang but the only English he knows is "Money Money" and the Swiss guy thinks he is trying to robe him.

 

At the end the farang will have to end up paying compensation to the deceased's family and then let go. The wife will be charged with nothing and of course another deceased adds to the list of deceased over the feeling of love.

 

Lesson to be learned here for all you farangs who allow your wives out drinking with "friends", expect more than just drinks with them, I think it's called friends with benefits and I have seen it on a few occasions, and no, I won't tell the guys, because it ain't my business and I know exactly what these clowns will say in defence of their pretties, so it ain't worth it.

 

I think if the cops do their job properly, they will end up seeing the wife has most of the 300k baht, the Swiss guy is innocent of murder or manslaughter and they can't touch the wife, because as far as anyone is concerned the deceased gifted it to her, case closed.

I don't understand the guy. From the time the clowns in brown turned up, followed by the media circus trampling on his property, why wouldn't you call a lawyer? Why was he speaking to the police in front of the cameras on his back porch, without a lawyer and more importantly a translator present. Why wasn't this happening in a police station? The headline is misleading.

 

I think the dead guys family are trying to defend their family name by saying he didn't go there to steal as he had plenty money already from sale of the land. I think it is bad reporting that implies he had any money with him or on his person. However, since his demise this money has disappeared. The family will say anything because they know if it comes to light as to the whereabouts of the money, the police will seize it for evidence, and then it REALLY will disappear.

 

They are trying to justify what he was doing there in the dead of night at the Swiss guys house and then suggesting he was there at the request of the Swiss guys wife as they were involved in a love tryst. They try to justify the gun by saying it is a legal firearm, but don't say why he had it on his person.

 

Now, 1. The 250,000 has actually gone missing ( 40,000 baht deposit he was given prior to all this ) 2. They have taken it themselves and are trying to make a cover story to deflect attention. 3. They can't find it after his death as he hasn't told them where it is. They suspect, without evidence, he has given it to the Swiss guys wife, or she has somehow taken possession of it.

 

I think for sure the family are clutching at straws.

 

Gossip always prevails in this village incidents and they never let the truth get in the way of a good conspiracy story. It is quite possible this dead man told them nothing as to what he had done with the money or where he had put it. Why is that so hard to believe? It is perfectly normal in Isaarn.

 

Thais even leave the house here and never tell the family where they are going. You must have come across that, those that live here?

 

You go and call upon somebody at their home, (it can be as innocent as he is a workman and you require some labour), the family just say ' He's gone outside '  When will he be back? The answer is  " I don't know"

 

Now, What was he doing in the dead of night at another persons house with a firearm. That is what needs to be understood and an answer found. I don't think there is anything suspicious in throwing a gun in a pond by the victim, he probably wanted the gun as far away as possible from himself and the assailant.

 

For sure, I believe the Swiss guys wife knew the defendant, they live in the same village, everybody knows everybody, but I wouldn't leap and accuse her of having an affair with him. Plenty of time Thai males can make unwanted advances to females with foreign husbands who they perceive as rich, due to stories in the village or just down to the fact they have a car and a decent house with comfortable surroundings in comparison to the locals.

 

My god, many of the ' houses ' here where I live in Isaarn don't even have windows let alone furniture.

Bottom line any intruder found with a gun in my house at night will be found there in the morning (albeit motionless)

 

Side Show: This Thai man was supposedly having an affair with the Swiss mans wife....Now he shows up after midnight with a gun in the Swiss mans house? Guess what the plan actually was at that point?

 

Now dead Thai man's mother makes a claim the dead man had 300k baht & what?? Udon Police visit Swiss man why? They think maybe he set it all up? Had Thai man appear at his home with gun & 300k so Swiss could rob him? Amazing Thailand

If we are going to speculate on what happened, then another theory could be that the armed intruder believed the girlfriend (accused person's wife) had stolen the money and he believed it was in the house.  That would go towards a possible motive for the robbery.
