Popular Post webfact
By Cod Satrusayang Foreign travellers looking to enter Thailand after November 1 are still being told by overseas Thai embassies to book quarantine accommodations, multiple sources told Thai Enquirer this week, despite statements by the government saying that the country was partially opening up. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha said earlier this month in a nationally televised address that Thailand will open its doors to vaccinated travelers from a list of ten “safe” countries starting November 1. The prime minister said that it was time for the country to gradually reopen in accordance with his government’s plans. Prayut said that the decision was made with the economy in mind even though Covid-related repercussions were likely. Popular Post ezzra
Confusion reign supreme in this country and not one, not even our esteemed know it all PM is hopeless when it come to finally take the finger out and make a decision that will be best for the country and WILL work for everyone... 39 1
Popular Post bkk6060
Nothing firm was announced yet. Seems people are being kind of stupid at this point since there is no firm commitment as to what the new requirements are. The embassies have no choice but to advise them on the current requirements. 46
Popular Post alyx
As long as there is no record of any decision, made by the Government. in the Royal Gazette, all branches will still apply the current rules. Unlike eager/worried listeners and readers, Embassies and other administration do not react to rumours and declarations made ( no comment on how they are made...) I do not understand how people can blame the concerned authorities (Embassies) This is not a news 33
Popular Post mtls2005
This is similar, but 100x worse, to when they briefly lowered the quarantine period to 7 days. Better to come up with a detailed, well thought-out plan, fully gazetted BEFORE announcing it. 22
Popular Post ikke1959
Typical Thailand first talk than look and after that think....Several times I said that the PM is giving not correct information because he want to show the people that he is doing his best for the coiuntry and the people believe him, but outside the country they know better 26 1 2
Popular Post ThailandRyan
This is Sparta "hold the line" seems to be what this Government is not good at doing as the line in the sand changes daily, weekly, monthly and even sometimes hourly, yet what is said and posted in the gazette takes weeks, months and longer to actually be implemented in other paces outside of the country......so as always clear as mud.

Not only the PM. Even in the military. My nephew who is in the Thai navy, regularly, is told he will not be called for duty the next day, then gets late night messages to report for duty the following morning. It would seem decisions are made as and when someone 'thinks' about it when in the shower. It might explain the problem when the country is lead by a military government.???? 16 2

Popular Post Polaky
I would not be surprised if they canned this reopening until next year, It certainly cannot be 1st November, nothing will be prepared in time, egg on his face again instead of the Pad Thai. 9

Popular Post HashBrownHarry
Anyone with any history in Thailand would not make any arrangements to arrive in Thailand expecting no quarantine. It's been the same with all changes in quarantine procedures, wait till it happens and then monitor before booking.

Popular Post khunPer
Quote According to multiple travelers looking to enter the kingdom, Thai embassies overseas have told visa applicants that they have received no instructions from the foreign ministry in Bangkok about the lifting of restrictions for vaccinated travellers. Makes sense, as the new rules are not yet complete and confirmed.... 3 1

You would have thought the details might have been agreed before the PM hit the airwaves and left more questions than answers.

Even a small percentage of the unvaccinated/vaccine waned/vaccine not effective parts of the population and the health care system pressures begin to build. Picture a mouse on a wheel running. I still think this horror show is going to drift on and on.

Europe - not so cold, not yet anyway - but it's coming. 3 1
Popular Post Cherrytreeview
BP reporting swab hubs will be used outside the airport on arrival in BKK. This is to avoid overcrowding. These could be at hotels, hospitals etc. Saying that tourists will have to stay one night at hotel to receive results. So after my 2 flight, 20 hour trip, i can look forward to any amount of hastles. Queuing, waiting for buses, carted off in the Bangkok traffic to somewhere else to get tested. then carted back again? Am i allowed to travel freely to my destination in Thailand? Can't wait for the YouTube videos of this circus.
2long
I think that it's clear Pinnochio goes on Facebook* and spouts his nonsense... and then he uses the public reaction and real-world experts'** ideas to come up with a real plan. Not only does this save him the time and effort to think***, but it also allows others to show his errors before he actually acts... thus saving his ugly face! *a platform he wants to block at times when others post things he doesn't like **ThaiVisa members for example! ???? ***not his greatest skill

Obviously, as no definite announcement has been made the embassies/consulates have to go by existing regulations regarding COE, hotel quarantine etc. 2

What you both are doing here is telling a half-truth and taking news out of context. The numbers in Germany are still high and slightly increasing, but Germany has been largely opened, encouraging vaccinated people. The numbers in Russia are awful indeed, but you don't say why. The reason is that most people, particularly in Moscow are not vaccinated, as most Russians don't trust the available vaccine. 1

There was a long line when getting off the plane to check all the paperwork so be sure to get a seat near the exit.
