That said - I read an article whereby some businesses in Thailand (Air Asia included) are banning the masks with ‘vents’ - this kind of contradicts the reasons masks are required - the barrier rather than the filter. 

IMO you have that reversed if I read it as intended. Masks are considered more effective in limiting airbourne dispersal from an individual rather than inhaling a virus. Vented masks negate that.

I think you might want to seek a second opinion on the necessity of your being exempt from wearing a mask.

 

As explained in the video below by a respiratory medicine specialist, people with respiratory problems are actually more in need of wearing a mask than the general population, because they're at greater risk from Covid if they become infected.

 

He also demonstrates (and provides evidence) that breathing and O2 levels are not adversely affected by wearing a normal surgical mask, and the only valid medical reasons not to wear a mask are a serious skin condition or an inability to wear a mask due to physical or mental disabilities.

I know a number of people who got covid and died. Your post doesn't make sense. You need to read up on why everyone needs to wear masks. Not just the unvaccinated. And no, if you've had covid, your immunity isn't better than if you were vaccinated.

Nope... the masks do not do a great deal to protect the ‘wearer’ they are designed to protect everyone else if the wearer is carrying a respiratory virus.

You wont be allowed to get on plane in the first place and there is no getting around mask mandates in public places in Thailand. You can however go mask-less when eating and drinking in a restaurant or when swimming.  Best of luck.

It is unfortunate that people who have legitimate medical exemptions from mask wearing like yourself have to bear the stigma created by people who do NOT have legitimate reasons but don't wear them because they are just stubborn, stupid, or irresponsible. If I were in your position, I'd try the face shield, with a loose fitting mask. That should eliminate most people misjudging you.

I think that is exactly what I said. A vented mask does not inhibit exhaled viral dispersal by an infected person. Therefore not approved.

Who are you to declare that people only get mild flu like symptoms? I personally know people including a relative that got Covid and spent a terrible painful 3 weeks on a respirator and kept separated from their family and then died from Covid. Not everyone only gets a mild flu like infection. If she cannot wear a mask then she should not be allowed on a commercial plane with other passengers all of who must wear masks plus the crew must wear masks.

Probably just have to move back home.  I can imagine the grief you'll get.  

 

Trying to explain why you cant wear a mask every minute would be awful.

 

Why don't you just go to some clinic and get "I can wear a mask" note for 200 baht.

 

This will overide the other clinics " I can't wear a mask" note.

 

Then your good to go.
