TAT predicts 18 million foreign tourists in 2022, spending 1 trillion baht

Featured Replies

Why dont TAT diversify and tout on-line lottery numbers predictions

or

publish one of those guide books that translate subjects from dreams (trees, crocodiles, snakes etc) into lucky lottery numbers  tourist arrival numbers

Well they better hurry up and figure out how to get these people to come here !

My mate flew to Bkk from Heathrow yesterday with a hour stop in Phuket . There was a total of 30 people in economy and half got off in Phuket.
Maybe business class and first class were packed with all the rich tourists the country want , but I highly doubt it ! ????????

Shut up, will you? Just shut the <deleted> up. No one believes you, so what's the point?

The majority of those who have entered Thailand since November 1st are returning expats, NOT tourists.

I copy this in my atoma book and at the same date next year i will open it and realise what are the results.

What a great idea. That'll be another reason for me to be alive next year. Thank you.

Seriously....who thinks up this drivel ????

Does TAT think he knows more than the airlines do. For example I checked Cathay Pacific flights from BKK to HKG (I am looking for flights to visit Vancouver) and I now see that until May they have only 1 flight per day 3 times a week (12 flights per month), where before they had at least 4 or 5 flights per day 7 days a week (140 flights per month)

I wonder what figures they'll present for 2030 or 2050, as there is a plan issued by Prayut for the next decades?????

I don't read TAT fantasies anymore. A waste of time, and I don't think I'm missing anything.

Stop dreaming, Chinese people are not gonna come with that zero Covid policy.

Plus from what I know, the Chinese government is now restricting the issue of passports as they don't want people to travel internationally

Ha ha ha…….. stupid is what stupid does. I predict there will be 18 million mosquitos as well

Delusional. I suspect they won't even hit 1.8 million genuine tourists.

The few tens of thousands that have arrived since Nov 1 are not typical tourists. They are mostly those with a more long term connection to the country and have been waiting on entry requirements relaxing so they could make the journey.

Genuine tourists won't waste their time. They want a relaxing holiday and there is nothing relaxing about entering Thailand currently.

18 million tourists next year? That's a good one...

Chinese are going to be restricted to be travelling in the future, like in Mao time, China is closing down, and going back to the old ways pre-1970s

kind of good news, I am starting to like more and more that big COVID reset ????

Maybe 5 million but only if they can get everything sorted for the Chinese New Year.

Going out this afternoon, here in Chiang Mai. I saw about 10 tourist scattered about the old city. They are here but not great numbers of them. Lots of Thai tourist in town and a over abundance of Bangkok plates.

Only the quality toerists are welcome all others remain dirty farang

Going from 2,000 tourists to 3,000 is not by any means 'mushrooming'.  At best, it's creeping slowly upward.  Very slowly.  Still absolutely dismal, where it will remain until traveling to Thailand is made easy.

And the the band played believe it if you like

Why is it so important for TAT to come with all these predictions? It makes no sense!

just for the benefit of their people's year end bonus: Higher total tourist estimates (!) spread over the year lead to fat bonus return

From Monday, Austria full lockdown.

Germany, partial lockdown.

Covid numbers increasing rapidly all over Europe.

TAT, forget about your dream.

Be quiet for a moment and don't throw numbers around.

Yes. Best entertainment of my day today sadly.

holly jesus, Austria in full lockdown even if you are fully vaccinated? what's the point then of vaccination? they seem to be repeating the same mistakes over and over again!!! let's hope the rest of European countries are not following them

Be interested to know if the single guys are getting better crumpet due to lack of customers !

Ask the Thai guys in the villages. Could be possible that Somchai is busting nut more often. Would not be surprised.
