Pattaya – Pattaya police inspected a “restaurant” near the Bali Hai Monday night (December 13th) for allegedly selling alcohol and being open without a permit, which is the fifth time this venue has been “raided” in recent months.

A team from the Pattaya City Police inspected the ‘Sky Mountain’ restaurant and bar where lot of Thai and foreign customers were allegedly found drinking alcohol with live music, with some not wearing masks or social distancing.

This particular restaurant was raided four times before during the past few months of Covid-19 restrictions, noted Pattaya Police. Last time the restaurant had been ordered for temporary closure until the end of November but was since allowed to reopen.

It is beginning to look like the restaurant cannot take the hint the police make.

I strongly suspect the owner has ruffled the wrong feathers.

The fact that they have a police force?   After a long hibernation under a stone, Plod is beginning to emerge and rattle his empty wallet.

People eating and drinking not wearing a mask??????????

If many international travelers are getting arrested, I hope they all go to the media in their home countries and

let them know how Thailand may be open for a visit, but are still restricting the drinking.

If Thailand wants to say it is open for Tourism, then open for Tourism.

Just shows how ineffective the police and law are here in Thailand

Influence and Money talks louder than enforcing the law

This place must be great payers!!

5 times raided......sack the Licence would help!

I have seen more Plod in the last week, than I saw all of the rest of the Year.

The smell of Tourist Money always brings out the slugs from under their stones.

The hint that the envelopes are not thick enough?

How can they get away with it 5 times without something being done. Close the place indefinatly for not obeying the law and if they open again lock up the manager and staff for a week or so, they will soon comply.

They were not in this example.

From the linked article

Quote

No customers were fined or arrested and the situation stayed calm as in prior raids on this venue customers attempted to escape potential fines or being detained by fleeing into the sea or the woods nearby.

Friends or more likely owners in high places.

What are customers supposed to do?

ask to see their business license before entering, plus most tourists can't read Thai, or know if the license is legit or not??

It seems like they are singling  out one, and letting others do!

You really believe this is the only obvious  place doing this? There are so many others in plain site violating the government  orders, but this appears to be the only place targeted.

Leave them alone! The brown shirts continual raiding here in Pattaya is dreadful.

No it isnt.  One or two street over from the police  station there are plenty bars with no SHA or SHA+ and no ones bothering them for some reason

Until they do 'bother' them. Twenty bars raided in Jomtien last week. In one night!
