Russia and its apologists should be thankful that the US didn't take that position in WW2.

There were "America First" politicians back then that did.

I saw that maybe they thought the victims would go back to the office and give there position away,  who knows a cowardly act anyhow.

If that is a concern of Russian soldiers they should be hiding from all civilians.

If Russia are firing missiles into Ukraine from within Russian territory or refueling tanks and trucks from fuel stores in Russian territory then they not only become legitimate targets but they are compelled to attack them in self defense.

There would be a reason why Ukraine has held back on full on attacks on Russian territory, to date such attacks have been very limited. Perhaps there are secret conditions applied to the supply of miltary assets to the Ukraine. At this stage Russia has not declared war, if they do so I imagine the war fighting will intensify.

Putin’s so called Special Operation has seriously backfired. It’s a pity the news on Finlands decision to join NATO was not before the 9th May, I would have loved to have seen him explain to the Russian people that due to his own actions NATO has now expanded its border with Russia by 1,300 kilometers.

Well done Putin, Finland would never have done it without you. Next Sweden.

Spanner in the works.

Exclusive: Putin's Captured War Plans Show His Ukraine Ambitions Shrinking

U.S. intelligence now believes, based partly in a reading of new captured war plans and documents, that despite earlier statements, Russia has now backed away from any grand plan to take all of southern Ukraine.

Despite some slow progress by Russian troops in the northern Donbas area, everything else is stalled, the official says. "Even when Russian reinforcements do arrive, they are coming in piecemeal, in units of 600-700 soldiers that have been cobbled together, in odd conglomerations of forces with no real relationship to their higher headquarters, and with little fighting spirit.

Ah Turkey, they are doing a wonderful job of sending their Bayraktar drones to Ukraine, they are causing devastation to the Russian military, so much so that Russia has been complaining……..lol

I’m sure those first reports of Erdogans reservations will be clarified in the coming days, does not affect in anyway the disastrous performance of Putin’s war. I understand that apologists are clinging to straws, getting nervous and looking for any distraction that deflects the reality of the situation.

Ukraine war: Military intelligence chief 'optimistic' of Russian defeat saying war 'will be over by end of year'

Major General Kyrylo Budanov spoke exclusively to Sky News and predicted the war will reach a turning point in August. He correctly predicted when Russia would invade earlier this year.

Russia's tactics have not changed despite its shift to the east he says, and Russia is suffering huge losses though he would not be drawn on Ukrainian casualties.

It's also pleasing to know that Lithuania doesn't have useful idiots for Putin like Rand Paul in its own government.

It wouldn't surprise me if there are lots of people like Rand Paul a Patriot.

Why should US government give more than other countries.

They have there excuse not to help Ukraine other than supplying so just keep using Ukraine as cannon fodder to wear Russia down along with all the sanctions and just wait and see Russian decemate itself without us having to get involved in war.

Not a bad idea if you don't give a dam.

Only my obsevation from reports like the Russians take mobiles and there was one on France 24 where a Russian tank was passing a house and all the people from the house ran inside, for no reason they blew the house to pieces with people inside.

I think they don't care about just killing civilians because civilians will give there position away.

They do not care, they feel justified to kill indiscriminately, fed BS by the top brass, justifying the invasion

"Why should US government give more than other countries."

Because that's what a world leader does.  Because the US has the largest military budget, stockpile of weapons, and capacity to produce more weapons.  Because NATO allies and other countries are ramping up military budgets but won't be in a position to provide significant military aid for some time.  Because European countries are contributing by taking in millions of Ukrainian refugees.  Because Europe is diversifying its energy sources at great cost which will do the most to hamstring Russia in the long term.

Finally, because some leaders know history well enough to know that it was lack of push back when Nazi Germany annexed Austria, occupied the Sudetenland and invaded Czechoslavakia that led Hitler to believe Europe was weak and would let him get away with anything.  These leaders don't want to let that ugly bit of history to repeat itself.

Arming Ukraine makes sense if you give a damn.

The US should give more because not only does it have the capability, but it's in its own self interest to do so. What would stop Putin from demanding more territory or subservience from other European countries if he isn't opposed now. The big mistake was not levying harsh economic sanctions on Russia when it stole Ukrainian territory in 2014.

As for the nonsense about the US using Ukrainians for cannon fodder...If the goal of the US was just to have Ukrainians die while wearing down the enemy, then it wouldn't be giving them the means to defeat the Russians. And the odds are very high that this is what the outcome will be. And if the Ukrainians are cannon fodder, then they are eager and willing to be such. Can't say the same for the Russian troops..

Sounds like an American fascist definition of patriot along the lined of Charles Lindbergh and Marjorie Taylor Greene. Of course such types find an ideological brother in foreign fascist dictators.

Not only did he block Ukraine aid he blocked an anti LYNCHING bill.

One of the most sickening and stomach churning acts being routinely carried out by the Russian military aside from the executions are the torture, rapes and especially those of children. It can affect us all in different ways if you have a shred of empathy. This alone has brought the war to such a nauseating low that there are no words that can describe the horrors.

Yet knowing the above is happening on a daily basis there are those who ignore the atrocities and instead mock and make light of the effort to help Ukraine win this dark episode in history.

You know who you are and you disgust me:

U.N. told "credible" claims of sexual violence against children as Russia's war drives a third of Ukrainians from their homes

"There are credible allegations of sexual violence against children by Russian forces," Woodward added. "As others have said, mass displacement has left children exposed to human trafficking and sexual exploitation."

Last month, Ukrainian lawmaker Kira Rudyk told CBS News that sexual violence was being used systematically "in all the areas that were occupied by the Russians." "Rape is used as a tool of war in Ukraine to break our spirits, to humiliate us and to show us that we can be helpless to protect our women and children and their bodies," Kira Rudyk, a member of Ukraine's Parliament, told CBS News. "It is happening systematically in the occupied territories."

Iryna Venediktova Prosecutor General of Ukraine: (Twitter thread source)

"We have over 11000 ongoing cases of war crimes and already 40 suspects. I am confident that in the nearest future we will see other cases being transferred to courts and perpetrators appearing before judges. We will ensure that these cases are brought to their logical end."

"This is the just a beginning in the long and complex process of bringing perpetrators before the courts and restoring justice to victims. We will leave no stone unturned to document and investigate every crime committed against people of Ukraine."

"This is my purpose: To make Putin and his forces pay for what they have done. While courts around the world are working to hold Russia accountable, the bulk of the investigation – and the largest number of prosecutions – will be done by Ukraine itself."

The intercepts from Russian mobile phones are recorded daily and some are repulsive:

One more absolutely terrifying #RussianArmy intercept. - I forced those Ukrainians to their knees. They cried and begged - I shot them in the head. - You proud? - Don’t give a damn.

One thing is for sure, the ordinary Russian will now be looked at in a different light after the worldwide news of atrocities committed by their military, in an age when we were all mostly getting along.

The Russian military can now be seen as another sh_t bunch in the same bracket as the ISIS morons..????

Potential problem, regarding new NATO admissions:
