The worst one I came across a few days ago, they showed a picture of a box of 18, clearly marked, the price slightly cheaper than a normal 18 box, BUT in the small print of the description way down the page the sale was actually FOR ONE piece !! Total shameful scam, but technically correct.

Watch out for the descriptions guys !

I recently ordered about 10 items on Lazada.

I’ve sent 4 of them back.

I just select return item, print out the label and stick it to the package. A courier picks up the returned item. Money back on credit card a week or so later.

A recent vendor complained after I returned a ‘fake’ product - I simply clicked on 'counterfeit item’ as the reason for return.

The Vendor (China) messaged me asking why I don’t trust their item, its not fake.  I told them the item is obviously fake as I also have a real one. I thought they were going to object to the refund but they have not.

I did have a hassle with a item I’d purchased last year. I ordered a bicycle saddle but they sent a crappy phone case !!! I contacted the vendor to tell them, they were insistent they’d sent me the right item.

I’d videoed opening the package. I sent the package back. The vendor refused to accept they’d received it. I let Lazada deal with it and told them the vendor was trying to scam me. Lazada returned the money but it took a few weeks.

It was frustrating being part of an obvious scam - but thats the issue buying online. It gives freedom to too many scam artists. The scams are there even when something looks legit we just have to be extremely careful.

I have won every clim I have made against a seller on Lazada but going through the process is just stress and anger I don't need. They should vet their sellers extensively.

  • Popular Post

Try to find the product on Shoppe. Shoppe holds your money in trust until you approve the receipt of the item and agree the item is what you ordered. You do need to take a video of opening the package. You get your money back more quickly than with Lazada.

I ordered 50 AA & 8 AAA batteries off seller on Lazada , but I made

mistake and ordered 50 AAA battery and 8 AAA , so contacted him

and I asked if I could return the  50 AAA and have him send me AA 's

OK he said so sent them back enclosing 100 THB for return post.

So 2 weeks later he had not returned the 50 AA's  , everyday I am

asking what's happened , he's replying with stupid emojis' ,then

surprise 58 AA batteries arrive , I had only sent 50 back, then

even bigger surprise two days later another 58 AA batteries

arrived, so I am well stocked with AA battery now,

The other aspect I have noticed and commented on before, watch out for items showing as Samat Prakhan! They are not! They are actually Chinese distributors and your item comesdirect  from China.

If you search or are looking for "local" suppliers, watch out for that one.It is not what it seems. The other indicator is "sellers own fleet" on the delivery details.

Just pay COD only and apply for a refund.

I am currently renovating a house and in the last six months I have bought hundreds of items on Shopee and Lazada.  About 35% all all purchases go back for a refund for various reasons.

Just familiarize yourself with the refund process and always choose Kerry to return the item.  Just take a photo of the refund QR code with your phone.  Kerry staff will scan it and that is it.

Also always make sure you video opening ever parcel you receive.

And never accept any parcel that is already physically damaged when the delivery guy wants to hand it to you.

I purchase a lot online.  I find it far easier, less expensive, and bigger selection than purchasing in the stores.  Also, far easier to return.  None of the stores, Homepro, Thaiwatsadu, Makro, Tesco, Baan & Beyound, Big C, are good about returns.  It is like once you buy it, good luck with getting a return and if you do, it is almost always a store credit.  I have even had it more than once, that when I returned something I exchanged for something else that was less money, they made me go back in the store to shop for something else until it was more than my returned item.  Still new, unused, and with the receipt.

I have had a reasonable number of items that were not as intended.  Only a couple of times did the seller balk at giving the money back, and Lazada and Shopee have always stepped in and honored the return.

So, does online shopping have some drawbacks, of course. But in the scheme of things it offers far more product selections, typically lower prices and having it delivered is the ultimate in shopping convenience.

Geez - what am I doing wrong?

I ordered one CU 15? (or 50?) led light bulb because they are hard to source here & got about a 10 year supply (5 extras)....

Is there a special box I need to check to get my orders fk'd up like the rest of you guys....?

Everything else, so far, so good....

Yes with lazada I only pay cash on delivery, but saying that its not like lazada let's you check it first before you pay the driver. But generally the price is a bit cheaper than a store purchase. But hassle we try to avoid....if we can. ????

Buy from AliExpress then. I only had two problems there so far. The first time the item I ordered hadn't arrived after 3 months, this was during covid when flights were suspended, though. So I opened a case with AliExpress and I've got my money back within 3 days. The item did eventually arrive two weeks after I've got my money.  The second time the seller sent me a tracking number which never worked. Two weeks after he "shipped" the item it still said it's in China. So he obviously never shipped the item to begin with. I've contacted him and he told me it's on his way and to be patient. When I asked him why the shipping number doesn't work he came up with a cheap excuse, so I've opened a case with AliExpress and got my money back within 3 days.

The only downside is sometimes the long shipping times, but that's mostly the case with low cost items that include free shipping. I've had items arrive after only 10 days also.

Overall my experiences with AliExpress so far were good.

Over the years I've found Lazada's "7 Day Easy Return" system to be automated, quick, and pretty flawless. Anything marked "Return to Seller" requires seller cooperation and can turn into a nightmare. That said Lazada leans on the customers side in disputes on those if you're willing to go through the hassle.

The other thing I've noticed is that bad sellers often have nonsense Store ID's like  "Asdqr8egc" and shaky or no seller reputation ratings. I suspect these are sellers that have multiple seller identities selling the same stuff and close and open stores frequently to stay nimble.

If a seller is offering a prices that's a bit cheaper than everyone else - it's often doesn't work out as hoped.

In self-defense I've started returning even cheap items, and mostly they are all 'cheap' in construction more so than price.

I do  same as you but drop at 7-11 and get a receipt from them. Never had a failure with that and money goes back into my 'wallet', which I can never add to but can use as credit. I never pay except as COD.

What I haven't been doing but will now start is video of opening package; good tip.

My return rate is about 1 in 10 so far. I'm lucky!

I think in some cases sellers offer several options, which are shown below the main item.....different colors/sizes/configurations....I knew one guy who was always complaining about messed up orders until he realized he was not selecting the proper item he wanted.

You are so right!

I've learned to find the line called "package contents" before ordering. Never assume anything from Lazada sellers except a scam. No, they aren't all Scammers but some certainly brazenly are.

I totally disagree, I have on two occasions had incomplete orders, (both from China) but because I try to use my laptop to make claim photos wont attach, so I sent all information to HO Bangkok by PO mail, eventually blocked on Chat line and email. Have deleted this company from my on-line buyers.

I have a problem with this "sellers own fleet" right now.  It still shows "Packed" status for three weeks but the seller insists it has shipped and it is a "Lazada technical problem."  It's already 11 days past the last day of the expected delivery window.  No way to track it, I wonder if/when it will show up.

Deleted the app 6 months ago and have stayed firm in never ordering from Lazada again. I have over 40 years of supply chain engineering experience and have either worked or consulted for the largest supply chain and Omnichannel providers in the world. Lazada is the worst Omnichannel providers in the business. Just a platform, and a very weak one, that takes no ownership of the activity and fraud that takes place daily on "their" site. Ironic that they are a subsidiary of one of the better operators in the business who are years ahead in  technology and distributed order management. Whoever is running their vendor management and compliance program should be fired.

I will advocate for their demise at every opportunity. Just because they exist doesn't mean they should exist. The organization lacks integrity. I am so happy that I deny their existence when it comes to my purchases. Resolve your dispute and live to resolve again and again. Not me. I am free from their incompetent, uncaring, unfocused approach to customer care and especially to the fraud they deny yet commit on behalf of their sellers.

I had a problem with the fact your wallet has a fund limit which isn't mentioned.

Dec I ordered about 7K of stuff for me - No problem.

Week later I ordered 3 Oculus Quests for my 3 sons at Christmas - total 47K

After I placed the order my Lazada wallet took the 47K but I couldn't pay the supplier with the funds.

It turns out that Lazada wallet has a 50K per month max (which isn't mentioned anywhere on the site). But the really galling part was Lazada took my 47K then wouldn't pay the supplier then told me the money was frozen till January. So this left me trying to find another 47K to pay the supplier for my Kids presents and 47K locked in my wallet which I didn't need any more.

Last time I ever use Lazada!

A colleague ordered a Xiaomi Mobile Phone from Lazada, 8000฿, when he opened the box there were 2 water bottles in the box ! If you order big money items from Lazada either video the item when opening the package or open the package in the presence of the delivery driver.

I use both AliExpress and Lazada a lot, and have never had a problem, except one item from China. It was a single item costing 10baht including shipping, that I badly needed and could not find anywhere else. After 3 months it had still not arrived. I complained and got a refund immediately.

I ordered a pack of 20 and they came in 10 days. Anyone want to buy 19, cheap?

This why I still prefer to buy in shops.

The object being bought is right in front of me, and if satisfied, I buy.

Fortunately, the older I get, the less I want to buy things. ( I'm not suggesting shoplifting...)

If I live long enough, I'll buy nothing but essentials. (And be happy.)

We had a similar experience, the photo showed 6 sachets in a box, 1 arrived at the same price it normally costs for 6 sachets, I called Lazada, I think I got a voucher, I have up until now found Lazada Customer Service to be very good.

Lazada is not like Amazon where Amazon sell the products, sellers advertise their goods on Lazada who take a commission similar to eBay with out the bidding.

That's nothing to do with Lazada and Lazada certainly is not "finding another way to screw you" in the circumstances you describe.  You're getting a refund on one item and a return/replacement on the other!

What "takes you hours on the phone"?

Lazada are very prompt when answering phone calls and have perfect English-speaking reps in their call centre.

I use AiExpress on a regular basis, and have found their pricing policy and selection of suppliers is excellent.

Beware the " Shipped from Overseas " description on Lazada.

All you need to do is source the same item through AliExpress, which is the way the Thai seller is selling.

AliExpress will be typically between 80 % and 250 % lower in cost with the same delivery time.

Of all the times I have used AliExpress, I have only ever had one issue ( during Covid ) and that was the delivery time went out to 60 Days.

However, I think 50 % of the problem was mine for being a cheapskate on the Delivery method .

Ebay in the UK has become the same with sellers blatantly breaking the UK 'Trade Descriptions' laws and Ebay doing nothing to prevent this.

Not true,

Lifepo4 batteries (3.2V @ 200Ah) are almost double on AliExpress.

16x Lazada/Shopee = 24,000bht

16x AliExpress = 1,000GBP (43,000bht)
