A THAI virologist urged the public to not fear the new Omicron variant XE, a mutation of the BA.1 and BA.2 strains, any more than they do BA. 2 that has spread across the country because the two of them look a hundred percent alike, Sanook and Matichon newspaper said.

Dr. Anan Jongkaewwattana, director of the National Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology’s Veterinary Health Innovation and Management Research Group, revealed his finding after it was reported yesterday that Ramathibodi Hospital had detected the XE variant in a Thai patient.

This patient was in the green group and had minor symptoms and has now recovered. Random ATK testing of people around him did not find anyone infected.

If that’s the case it’s 100% the same one, not a new variant. If it was 99.9% alike then they could say it’s a new variant.

Yes but it was later revealed the variant was found in a dog not a human

Don’t be alarmed and don’t be scared.

Come here. I want to tell you something.

There’s a new variant that’s nearly exactly the same as the other variant.

This is the dangerous one that affects government officials with piles … Yeah yeah yeah

Why no alcohol ban yet? Slow off the mark this time ????

Well at least the virologist has positive comments despite saying 100% the same cannot quite be true.

"...because the two of them look a hundred percent alike,"

Just because they look alike doesn't mean they are alike!

Cant let it disappear or no earnings for many

Had the patient been travelling recently, or have he picked the virus up locally?

But wouldn't that restart protest season?

Most viruses simply mutate into weaker forms of themselves before burning themselves out or becoming a very mild endemic type flu. Same here. This new one is likely to be even wimpier than Omicron. That is cause for celebration, not fear.

Though the goons would not want you believing that!
