Two speedboat passengers and a vessel owner who were involved in the fatal incident of the Thai female actress Nida “DTangmo (Watermelon in English)” Patcharaveerapong were facing legal charges, including recklessness causing death and perjury.

On Saturday, April 2nd, the Nonthaburi Provincial Court had issued an arrest warrant for Wisapat “Sand” Manomairat, reportedly a close friend of Watermelon, on a charge of recklessness in the drowning death of the actress.

Decha Kittiwitthayanan, Dtangmo’s mother’s hired lawyer, said that the Court had approved of the warrant because Sand was directly involved with the death of Dtangmo by ignorantly playing on her mobile phone and not taking care of the actress’ safety, resulting in her death.

Meanwhile, another passenger, Tanupat “Por” Lerttaweewit, and the boat owner, Phaiboon “Robert” Trikanjananun, were summoned for interrogation for the third time at Mueang Nonthaburi Police Station.

Is that even an offence?

What the hell?

Who is Sand ?? What part of looking after Tangmo was in her remit ?? I'm just so confused right now.

More importantly, how much will she demand to let it go.

The RTP always finds a reason for something... now playing on  phone instead of taking care of the safety of an adult woman...people can blamed for everything, the sky is the limit

Just a cover up for the real truth I suspect. This Sand may well be paid off and family handsomely taken care of to take the fall to avoid unwanted other disclosures.

It is if you want to deflect from something else

You have to take into account where we are.

I reports yesterday all of them (including the mother) have been charged with giving false testimony.

And the police seem to be avoiding making yniital determination.

RTP at it's finest indeed.

Another "seen to be doing" because of the publicity surrounding it.

What "actually" happens is another matter and one you can be sure we will know nothing about as this one disappears as so many have before it, we are never told the final outcome of many such events.

Unless she was assigned the role of look-out for safety reasons and just played on her phone instead.

I think the inference is that after Tangmo had gone overboard, instead of trying to look for and/or help her, or even call the authorities for help, Sand (and others on the boat) seemed more interested in sending text messages to various friends and acquaintances.

I think it's sometimes referred to as "depraved indifference."

Maybe playing with her phone meant filming her whilst she drowned? Seeing how some people are with mobile phones, not beyond the realms of possibility?!

That's my thoughts also.
