Inernet Outage

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just returned to our East Pattaya house after 5 weeks up country.

TOT internet not working.

Is there any way that I can determine how long it has been down...one day...4 weeks?

Gunna call tomorrow if still down.

Cheers

Ask the internet supplier, rather than us?

When was the last bill paid? Might give a clue...

The last bill was for TOT and NT , so for 2 months on

the same bill , if you did not pay that ,I think they have

cut you off.

Regards Worgeordie

And the NT envelopes do not stand out - looks like advertising so easy to miss.

Thanks.

I've had  same service about 6 years up. Bill paid auto by bank monthly so ok there.

Original question still stands though.

Is there a way to determine how long the connection has been out?

PC troubleshooter gives zip.

Cheers.

Hotspot from his phone maybe. Or simply using the phone and network data.

Correct Jacko,

Phone usage ok but laptop and modem no go.

Wife called provider and fixed outside of house.

I still don't know how to find how long coverage has been out.

Thanx All.

Internet package on his phone?

Don't understand why you're so fixated on how long service was down. Do you think they will compensate you? Even though you weren't there? It might fly in the western world but no chance here. Priority for me right now would be reconnection and getting a service that is less likely to go down again. Always having 4G/5G back-up plan is essential for me wherever I am.

Thanks Soi3eddie.

No. Not fixated or whatever.

It was a question that simply came to mind.

It is not a major drama in my life.

Why does this even come to mind? Surely you should just be wondering how long it will be to fix it?

Funny that no-one can give a direct answer.

Question is "How can a user tell how long internet, wifi, is out".

Not easily.

As suggested earlier by @Ralf001, you could use router admin login to see what the numbers are but if you turned the router power off before you went up-country, then that won't tell you anything.

So in the end, ask the internet company.

your question is a 64,000 baht question

does it matter when it went off

the main thing is

IS IT back working

"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

I simply aired a question that popped into my head.

Thanks for responses.

It was a serious suggestion - going to those who run the business and would know the answer or how to get it. Sorry you thought it was a bad idea. Of course, expecting a correct answer from a business here is a throw of the dice.....

I use TOT too.  I noticed the envelope and name change and did not know a merger with CAT.

I live just south of Hua Hin, east of Pran Buri, and near Pak Nam Pran.  Thursday morning tried to open internet, then saw flashing red light at LOS on the modem.  I called TOT in Bangkok.  They said a large outage in the Pran Buri area.  My last downloaded email was about 0300.  It cleared at 2130, so about a 19 hour outage.  Another call to TOT in Bangkok.  They said a fire in the local ISP had caused the fiber optic outage.

Say, "Lucky Bones", just look at the time of your last email and that should give you an idea of when your link went out of service.  Just saying.
