Pattaya — A female dance teacher in Pattaya filed a report to police, claiming that a foreign tourist inappropriately touched her while on Walking Street.

Ms. NC (alias), a 43-year-old dance teacher, filed a report with Pattaya police around 3 a.m. today, September 6th, following a surprising incident in which she claimed a foreign tourist sneaked up on her on Walking Street and inappropriately touched/grabbed her from behind.

 

The victim said that she was a dance teacher in Pattaya and used to teach many famous actors. Yesterday, she went on a night out on Walking Street to enjoy the vibe when a foreign man secretly snuck up behind her and touched her without her consent.

Some just cannot distinguish between a working girl and a civilian. This is never appropriate behavior toward  a civilian, and only appropriate with a working girl, if a deal has been struck. Groping strangers is never right. And this is coming from a guy who is not PC, and not Me Too! It is about basic respect and civility.

a dance teacher walking on the Walking street in Pattaya and had thaught many actors at 3 am??? What dances and where I am asking myself.. I never had a danceclass at midnight in a neighbourhood with poledance bars

It doesn’t matter whether she’s a hooker/working girl. You don’t sexually harass people regardless what their job is.

Working girls are not civilians? Are they in the armed forces?

Many of us refer to non working girls as civilians. 99% got it. You did not.

Disagree about the former. Working girls are not civilians. Teachers, and those who are not employed in the industry are civilians.

 

Agree about the latter. You can't physically harass anyone, at any time. It is just indecent and highly disrespectful.

It seems you are using your own definition, or that of a particular group of people. We can continue to argue about that word, or we can simply just stop here and agree that  it’s pretty irrelevant because there’s no point of such distinction between working and non-working people in the first place, as no one regardless of their job should be subject to sexual harassment.

I very much doubt you have had 100 posters giving you feedback to reach that conclusion and I am not the only to question you using the word civilian. It is very uncivil of you to do so.

No excuses for the man.  However, late night drinking in a red light district unfortunate things are bound to happen.

 

An apology and a few thousand baht should suffice.  Perhaps some dance lessons? 

It seems she was about 2am out on Walking Street, and probably alone.

What was her expectation?

Incorrect. Really bad real and a bad interpretation of what was said. I said groping a working girl is totally appropriate, once you have established terms and she has agreed to the terms. Big difference. A bit of a PC move.

Wow. We are a bit sensitive today. It is a lighthearted term used among many men I know to distinguish between women in the industry, and those who are not. It does not mean anything to the gals, and even if they understood it, it would not mean anything. There is nothing in the way of a negative connotation, nor any judgment in it. You simply  choose to be upset and offended by it. 

Tourists, especially western seem to think they have a free pass here.  I have seen many inappropriate behaviors with females over the years working girls or not.

In many countries now it is a crime of sexual assault or worse.  And, big money civil payouts.

Bottom line, keep your hands to yourself unless the exchange is wanted or mutual.
