You clearly don't know Thailand, where drugs are everywhere and violence is always just below the surface and there is very little self-control. This drug-taking ex-cop just took things to an extreme.

  • Heartbreaking that someone could do this... I have no words.

Where does all this hate come from ?

May be there is something wrong in the system ....

Do , at least , not sell ammunition any more .

You just have to come to terms with the fact that there will always be psychopaths like this popping up occasionally to wreak murderous havoc. There really are no practical measures to eliminate it,especially involving a legitimately armed policeman/soldier going into a vulnerable institution like a school. Fortunately it is rare here although I understand that comes as no comfort to the victims

A shame he got the chance to kill himself. Would have deserved some good beatings in prison.

Nope ! I'd have given him to the parents and their relatives and turned a blind eye whilst they dealt with him.

It's usually money or love here, time to add Meth to that list.

Very, very sad news.

Jesus, the world just seems to get worse by the day.

without the followers of jesus until today, the world would be much more peaceful and millions of lives could have been saved.....

Massacres in Thailand, Mexico and California  all news today.

What a sad and sorry world we are living in.

Reuters/Sky says he was fired last year from the police force, and his wife and child were in the day care school.

Wherever...God help them and the other little innocents who he gave no chance of a life to.

A very sick individual ( i cant call him a man) indeed .

Watching the news now PPTV Channel 36.  Apparently he also torched his pick-up truck as well in the driveway of his home.

Nothing short of deranged and possessed by his drug use.

So so sad for the families, heart goes out to them and the little angels, rest in peace.

Straight to hell for the <deleted>.

The whole cop force needs a good looking into psychologically IMO.

Brings back chilling memories of the Dunblane Primary School massacre in Scotland in 1996.

These kind of mass shootings are thankfully much rarer in the UK and Thailand. However, this event coupled with the massacre in Korat two years ago, shows that there is not enough gun control in Thailand.

What grievance could any broken individual have against innocent children?

Drugs are the only thing that could remove you from the real world.

No child ever hurt him.

Makes me want to cry. So much sadness, for so many.

Why take it out on the weak & vulnerable?

Sick, twisted evil.

Only in…….__________ !  (Fill in the blank)

Deplorable. Such a cowardly <deleted>. So many people will not find closure for their loss.

Words mean so very little in the face of such evil.

My first ever trip to Isaan and l am about 30kms from this horrific event.....everything so peaceful around here

I think you need to add alcohol to that "list".

RIP Innocence. My heart goes out to so many families in sorrow.

Weird how these psychos go to schools

Copying stuff they see on tv?

I wish there was a way to detect human trash like this before the take action.

Sad that people can be so evil.

Its like watching a nightmare unfold on the Thai TV news, every update gives more horrific details. he ran random people over with his car then got out and shot them. stopped and stabbed a lady out walking. Killed 4 neighbors in his soi.

It's up to 36 dead and another 12 injured.

Including the shooter, his wife and his child, the count is 6 men, 6 women, 21 boys and 3 girls.

One of the teachers was apparently 8 months pregnant when she was killed.

(In one of my Line groups, it's been said the total number of bodies is 42. Some people in the group are/were police but they didn't confirm it or provide any links.)

Some really sad and horrific press photos - "Safe and Trusted Thailand" Prayut??????

Sincere condolences to the families. RIP the victims, especially the youngsters who will hopefully find peace in Paradise

Former senator Jon Ungphakorn wrote on FB hrs after mass shooting in Nong Bua Lamphu which killed 36, including 24 children, #Thailand needs a strict gun control laws like in Japan or England but could only be achieved under a genuine civilian administration.

Why a school, and why this school in particular ?

I guess we will find out in the coming days.

RIP to all those lost, and may their families find peace. For some reason the death of the pregnant young woman and unborn child has saddened me most.

Does anybody know shooter's approx age? Appears as if this shooting may follow Chinese pattern of older male school attacker as opposed to US pattern of younger male school shooters.

My guess is that the guy had some sort of drug induced psychotic breakdown. Also, timing, coming when people were still recovering from floods and maybe seeing the sun come out for the first time in weeks is really eerie.

Heartbroken for the parents and those who lost loved ones.

His own children attended the school. But there is also a random element, killed complete strangers away from the school as well.
