Popular Post Pedrogaz
I stopped going to these parks several years ago. I despise this practice of charging farangs extra. The experiences inside the parks I did visit were generally underwhelming. 19 11
blazes
The only one worth visiting is Doi Intanon. Gives you a day's break from the heat (without having to hang out in a mall). It's high enough for you to notice the thinness of the oxygen.

Popular Post Aussieroaming
No dramas, I hope foreigners boycott all of their parks. Nice one, foreigners pay a new entry fee to enter Thailand and then pay 10 times the local rate to enter a shabby scabby national park with poor infrastructure. I'll drop my wife off at the entrance if she wants to visit any of them. Hopefully the YouTubers will get the message out about the additional fees being sucked out of tourists and local expats. I would laugh my head off if foreign countries reciprocated for Thai visitors. 13 3 4

Popular Post spidermike007
We must absolutely refuse to pay these jacked up fees. If no foreigners went to these parks, maybe the goons would rethink their idiotic and racist policies. On a certain level, I understand their desire to charge more to foreign tourists. But, there should be a policy for ex-pats living here. We support the nation on countless levels. So a drivers license, or a pink card should be all that is required, to show we are residents, not tourists. Asking us to pay these prices is dumb and dumber. Not to mention arrogant, and deeply offensive. Edited October 8, 2022 by spidermike007 11 4

gearbox
I still can't figure out the Thai national parks entry fees. For a starter is never clear how long you can stay there once the fee is paid. I was kayaking around the Chicken islands near Krabi and the rangers didn't charge me anything as I was just staying less than half a hour there. Otherwise 400 baht - seems pretty steep to me.
Popular Post wwest5829
I am just another full-time foreign resident put off by this illogic. Really I am quite saddened as one of Thailand's attributes is the natural beauty. I suppose I am reflecting my US experience in visiting the US National Parks. It is a natural aid to developing increased Thai tourism ... instead someone's thinking (OK, lack thereof) just leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Do those studying tourism not learn about the potential tourist cultures? Edited October 8, 2022 by wwest5829 5 1

For reference, here in Cambodia, the Government is offering all resident foreigners a free single entry pass to visit the Angkor Wat Archaeological Park to help boost local associated tourism. The foreigners, in employment or retired, must have resided in the Royal Kingdom for 2 complete years. The free pass is worth 37$ (39 GBP, 1400 Baht). 3 2

As a foreigner you cant buy land in Thailand and if you want to step on some of it, the price increases rapidly. Sound to me like you are certainly going to pay for the privilege of living in Thailand. 2 1

I have never seen you say anything positive about folks living here. Did you have a terrible experience or something? 1 1

Stargeezr
I have visited Thailand for over 20 years and have been to most of the parks and the last time my Thai family went to Doi Suthep, I stayed at the entrance with the van driver, and the Thai family enjoyed their visit. I had my Thai wife explain that her and I had been their already 2 times in the past and I did not see anything new to warrant me paying the visitor price. I still enjoy visiting Thailand and seeing the museums and temples with my Thai family so I have many places I can still go without paying the tourist prices. 1
