  • The call to the police was soon known to the casino operators....  bit of a giveaway!

  • Anybody who gambles 3 days straight needs more than just help from the police.

It's founder Ekkaphop Leuangprasert said that the casino in question is a big operation with many different types of games available including Dragon Tiger and  baccarat all under one roof.

There are people gambling there all day and all night.

RTP obviously have a financial connection here.

Another day in the life of Thai police; they all suffer from a serious medical condition called 'shuteye.'

This is a classic example of absolute corruption at every level.

"He called the police response "unusual"."????

555. A modern, developed Western liberal democratic society with a robust legal system would have made this headline news.  Politicians would be demanding a Royal Commission into corruption and organised crime.

But in Thailand it's just, "lift up that rug and just sweep it under there"!!

Unbelievable stuff!  So amazingly bad and just the tip of the iceberg.

I'll stick to my 100 baht lottery tickets (probably fake tickets 555)

The casinos I know of are run by senior police. My nephew manages one in Ladprao, never any trouble. It's the ones run by criminals that are the bad ones.

Played in a 50,000b buy in Texas Hold Em tournament here in Pattaya a few times, always 100+ peeps on seats.

Was organized by a few policeman.

Went dead when covid hit though (many expat players left Thailand).

I recall a cross border visit on the close Cambodian border.....back in the day before 12 month extensions...

My wife being Thai was an avid gambler and so off we went to a Blackjack table at the "very available" nearby legal Cambodian casino.

Luckily we were accompanied by a Thai copper (friend ) who worked at the border (Imm).

She kept winning......I couldn't believe it! (She a Macao addict )

At 20,000 baht up, our "friend" politely suggested we should "leave now" ..... wife protesting of course, but I told her, "we're out of here" ..... and we did with the 20k and still alive.

That is the key that a lot of gamblers forget.

If you are winning either one of 2 things happens your luck changes and you start to lose or you keep winning which usually means you are cheating or have a system that the casino will not like.

People seem to forget that there are many off the books card games and gambling in the west.

Also think back a few decades to the sports books and the card games/ casinos that ran in the west.

This is nothing new we sometimes forget that Thailand is still in the early stages of development.

There is a part of thought that you can compare Thailand now to let's say the days of the mob in the U.S and England.

The police wanted to visit the casino, to discover why they are not getting a piece of the action. The nerve of those Chinese operators!

The casino run by a member of your family is legal? Your nephew is not a criminal?

So, if I understand well, gamblers have been robbed in an illegal casino and ultimately complained to the police. Instead of arresting the casino owners and managers for illegal activity (on top of robbery), they just negotiated with the casino to give back some of the money stolen. ????

All this now exposed in the media, apparently without any consequence.

Don't forget kidnapping

This sounds like a case for... Big Joke!

Thai police is probably the most useless aspect in this country. And that means something. So amazing how the people accept it and pay for it.

Imagine getting into a back room poker game and winning and they find out you are cheating them in the west?

Hang out with criminals anywhere and you are asking for trouble.

I'm going to Vegas in a couple of weeks and I have a 100% guaranteed method of not losing even one single bet.

Don't make one. Bada bing Bada boom. ????

YOur method is probably the best but then again the people that run the tables and do security willnot even know you are there.
