Of course it's highly likely that Pelosi will lose her speakership soon anyway.

You really believe the replicas can gain a majority? If so the orangman will be vindicated and investigations dropped, well that's what his followers believe.

Investigate away Chief Scott, but I suspect we all know what this loons motivations will have been and who inspired them.

Strange because all news sources are available to research on the web, one of the wonders of freedom in the west.

Your claim:

As to independent news sources, most are cancelled. Only news sources citing the accepted narrative is allowed (in the west).

Which I addressed already. For some added context: https://freedomhouse.org/explore-the-map?type=fotn&year=2022

So where did you get this notion from? "Only news sources citing the accepted narrative is allowed (in the west)."

‘Where’s Nancy?’ How the chilling attack on Pelosi’s husband echoed Jan. 6 insurrection on Capitol Hill

San Francisco police arrest Berkeley man with history of online extremism

“Where’s Nancy? Where’s Nancy?”

The chilling question that the violent home invader reportedly demanded of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband before attacking him with a hammer early Friday is the same one that echoed through the halls of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 when insurrectionists stormed the building.

The 2:30 a.m. break-in and bludgeoning at the Pelosis’ Pacific Heights home Friday sent 82-year-old Paul Pelosi into surgery to repair a fractured skull and “serious injuries to his right arm and hands” and, just over a week before the crucial midterm elections, forced Democrats and Republicans alike to ask a distressing question again: How have we come to this?

Frustrated lawmakers want protection for their families as threats increase

...

Calls for violence against lawmakers online and elsewhere have referenced both elected officials and their families, according to sources familiar with the threat environment who told CNN that law enforcement agencies have been grappling with how to address those threats in the wake of the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol.

In the months following the January 6 insurrection, Capitol Police and other law enforcement agencies worked to increase protection for members of Congress while they are in Washington, DC, and traveling back to their home districts.

However, the security detail for lawmakers, including Pelosi, does not protect their family members, including spouses, when the members of Congress are not with them, according to multiple sources."

Accused Pelosi attacker David DePape spread QAnon, other far-right, bigoted conspiracies

...

DePape’s screeds included posts about QAnon, an unfounded theory that former President Trump is at war with a cabal of Satan-worshipping elites who run a child sex ring and control the world.

...

DePape’s daughter, Inti Gonzalez, told The Times that her father wrote the blog. She said that she and her mother were reeling from the news that DePape had been arrested in connection with the attack on Paul Pelosi.

“I’m a little shocked,” she said, “but not really that shocked, in all honesty.”

Trump spent the day complaining on social media while lawmakers of both parties condemned the assault on Pelosi's husband

As top politicians on both sides of the aisle came forward to condemn the violent assault on Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to post about an array of topics. Over the course of the day, he complained about his legal issues, attacked a judge, and endorsed Brazil's authoritarian president — without a word about Pelosi or her husband who has been hospitalized.

Trump's silence was in stark contrast to other leading Republicans who denounced the assault, which reports suggest may have been politically motivated.

Biden cites Jan. 6 riot chant as he condemns 'despicable' attack on Paul Pelosi

The president, speaking in Pennsylvania, called on Americans to “clearly and unambiguously" stand up against political violence.

President Joe Biden on Friday called out the “despicable” attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul, directly tying the attacker’s words to rioters’ chants during the Jan. 6 assault on the Capitol.

...

“This is despicable. There’s no place in America. There’s too much violence — political violence — too much hatred, too much vitriol,” Biden said. “And what makes us think one party can talk about stolen elections, Covid being a hoax, [that it’s] all a bunch of lies, and it not affect people who may not be so well balanced? What makes us think that it’s not going to alter the political climate? Enough is enough is enough.”

Why are these people so gullible? I doubt if even the Thais, with a much lower quality of education, would be so brainless.

Trump and his MAGA followers have often said that they like the "poorly educated" folk in the USA, probably because they readily buy into his nonsense tweets/posts/rantings and lies, so it's not surprising this sort of thing happens because there is no shortage of brainless bogans in that country.

All desperate attempts to tie this to the Bad Orange Man need to wait until some actual investigation is done.  He does seem to have some, shall we charitably say, mental issues if the reports from people who know him are anything to go by.

The only good news so far is that Mr. Pelosi is expected to make a full recovery.

How is it "desperate"? It's all spread in his social media activity.

The guy is likely nuts, as you suggest, but he's been provided causes on a silver plate by the MAGA world.

Click in at the FOX News website to see how they are playing major news. No headlines that mention the right wing connection. One headline does state, "Suspect in Pelosi attack linked to radical nudist as background emerges."  The FOX spin team is on the ball.

If you do read their actual stories, they do mention right wing connections but no NO, headlines. FOX news audience needs to be protected from these unfortunate truths.

Not surprisingly, a lot of the conspiracy theory and right-wing extremist nonsense spouted by the suspect here was also believed by the Jan. 6 Capitol rioters, and many of them ended up also claiming to have mental illnesses. So there seems to be a convergence here.

U.S. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden concluded that severe mental illness significantly mitigated ‘the blameworthiness’ of the defendant.

Jan. 6 Defendant Known as QAnon Shaman Sentenced to 41 Months

Mr. Chansley pleaded guilty in September to a single felony count of obstructing an official proceeding before Congress. In court on Wednesday, Mr. Watkins argued for leniency on his behalf saying, among other things, that he had lived for several years with mental illness.

"A man alleged to have taken part in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol Complex was ordered to undergo a mental competency evaluation by a federal judge on Thursday after a series of increasingly bizarre and outrageous in-court outbursts that spiraled out of control — with a reference to former president Donald Trump adding to the mayhem."

Right. Fox News is only highlighting the nudist connection (dating from 2013!). ????

It's different on the Washington Examiner website.

“It was reported by CNN that the suspect intended to tie the victim up “until Nancy got home” and that he had posted rightwing and conspiracy theories online, including content promoting the lie that Donald Trump was deprived of victory in the 2020 election because of voter fraud.

In addition to multiple conspiracy posts on his Facebook account, which was reviewed by CNN and later taken down by Meta on Friday, DePape is also believed to have managed a blog to which he regularly posted screeds concerning the “ruling class”.
