Its not the government's so much that have not so good intent....I bet about 98% of government employees are trying to do a good job.....

I think it's a bit of a leap to think that transhumanism will be used vicariously in a democratic society. Genetic manipulation has long been used to fix defects in embryos. AI and nanotechnology obviously has application for disabled people.

The land the massive ice melting from will also rise and make water rise noticable in the far future. Many mechanisms working together, same as earthquakes can swallow huge masses as give water, gass, oil from isolated reservoir that  brakes/crack open.

Floating sea ice makes no difference when it melts, so Arctic melt makes no difference.

Greenland and the Antarctic are the land masses with most ice on and to my knowledge not melting significantly. Glacier ice that was floating around the Antarctic will not raise sea level when it melts. Only if the ice cap itself melts would that happen.

Leaving aside the "climate change" thing, humans are exterminating many species because we are too many and invading their territory, discarding plastic in the oceans etc.

Reducing the world's human population would do far more for the planet than driving electric cars.

It is much easier for governments to control the population with fear when climate change is the designated threat.  Terrorism worked for a while but then the whole WMD debacle shut that scam down.  Climate change is the new terrorism, it is out there, lurking, and you are required to be fearful, but dont expect any hard evidence, governments will make sure they don't have another WMD moment.
