"Number 2" is often used when taking a dump . Maybe that is what this thread is a reference to ? Pattaya beach has the most number 2's on it ?

  • Well it won't last with the sewage pipes working at full capacity this festive season.

  • Commentary about Pattaya from anyone who can't pronounce Pattaya can be instantly dismissed. Not surprisingly, then, the vid is based on a straw man argument, as nobody had been claiming that Pattaya

Commentary about Pattaya from anyone who can't pronounce Pattaya can be instantly dismissed. Not surprisingly, then, the vid is based on a straw man argument, as nobody had been claiming that Pattaya is popular because of the beauty of its beach. And bungled a possible explanation of why Pattaya is so often searched on the net. Next.

I can't think of any other beaches I'd prefer to be sitting on right now.

Absolutely ridiculous lol. It wouldnt be the best beach in Chon buri. When I first came here dumb and unsuspecting went for a swim. Apart from the weird cloudy foamy water I was swimming with plastic bags and toilet paper. Had a nasty ear infection for a week and scratching my skin for days. Felt like i had swum in a Cesspool ????????

Been passing through and stayed in Pattaya for extended period the last 25 years and am amazed in the beach transformation.  Top 2 beaches in the world?  Not even close but it is a decent beach the last few years and definitely is no longer an eyesore.  As for the water quality, I don't have a clue nor care.  I rarely swim and even if I did, it would be inconsequential IMO. Some people will always find a reason to bash anything because they need to feel important.

I'm a happy fool that enjoys  Pattaya beach visually and especially from a high condo/hotel floor vantage point where it is spectacular.  TikTok is all about the visual experience and that is why it is #2 on TikTok.  My pond at my home is great in pics but definitely wouldn't swim in it.

#2 in the world .....   what absolute nonsense the internet tries to spread.  Pathetic ...

The OP is not about whether or not Pattaya is the best beach. It is undoubtedly one of the most popular beaches in the world. It was crowded with many thousands of people on several occasions in the past couple of months.

Big difference between the most "popular" and the "best" popular it may well be, but best - not even in top 100!

Nope. Those are street runoff drains. All seaside cities have em.

Pattaya beach is great.

It is just a fact. It wasn't based on opinions.

The latest study by Destination 2, a luxury travel company in the United Kingdom, shows that the most popular beach based on TikTok hashtags and views is Bondi Beach, known for surfing, in Australia, after it has received more than 445.8 million views.

However, the second most popular beach might come as a surprise because it falls to Thailand’s Pattaya Beach, a beautiful seaside resort city, which has received 128.5 million views on TikTok, according to the study.

Pattaya Beach has ranked far above other beaches like Nha Trang Beach in Vietnam with 64.6 million views, Waikiki Beach (5th) in the USA with 43.7 million views, or JBR Beach (6th) in Dubai with 30.3 million views.

According to Destination 2, the reason the study was conducted on TikTok is because it is a popular social media application that is widely used for searching for reviews of restaurants and tourist attractions, as well as for finding the most beautiful beaches in the world.

His pronunciation sounded ok to me... "Patt-a-yaa."

If you watch the above watched the video - the "results" are explained quite easily.

It's purely a result of the number of videos posted - so any Tik Tok video with #PattayaBeach is included - hence Pattaya is number 2.

So just shows there are marginally less idiots there than in Bondi!

I am a sheep.

I must believe everything.

Feed me knowledge.

I am dumb.

Take my money.

Tell me where to go.

I cannot think for myself.

I am incapable of thought.

Pattaya is Number 2, OK.

I will await further instructions.

The usual suspects lashing out at anything remotely positive about Pattaya beach. How dare anyone who came to Pattaya before the early 80's say anything good about it

He seems to pronounce it correctly Patt..aya. Most Youtubers can't and say Pa...ttaya.

This is one example posted on TikTok by a very high quality tourist from Pattaya. He can't even write ladyboy correctly...

"Never a dull night in the cities of Thailand ???? #thailand #fypシ #bangkok #pattaya #phuket #soi6 #pattayagirls #pattayabeach #pattayacity #ladyboi

All we hear is how Pattaya beach is uniquely a sh** hole. Well, lets do a cursory search on the # 1 beach in the list.

https://au.news.yahoo.com/bondi-beach-swimmers-warned-pollution-water-010642479.html

Waverley Council has dismissed suggestion contaminated water caused a spate of illness among swimmers at Bondi Beach last week. Rumours circled online that stormwater or sewage overspill had triggered multiple bouts of gastro however the council insists the water quality has been “very good”.

^ Does it get more Pattaya than that ?

That stupid spelling is something the kids do these days.

Boi (plural: bois) is slang within gay male and butch and femme communities for several sexual or gender identities.[1][2] In some lesbian communities, there is an increasing acceptance of variant gender expression, as well as allowing people to identify as a boi.[3][4][5]

The term has also been used, independently of any meaning related to sexuality, as an alternate spelling for boy.

Many here don't pronounce it correctly, either, so it would sound OK. He does get closer than most of the vloggers, usually Brits. Didn't get "Buakhao" quite right, either.

I watched it. He merely tried to excuse the misleading claim made in the previous article by mounting a fake investigation "uncovering" the real claim--that wasn't being concealed by TikTok. Then he exaggerated the importance of his explanation of the mistake by purporting "shock and horror" and vast "commotion" as a reason for a gratuitous, but VERY valuable, debunking of the idea that Pattaya's beach is popular only because of its beauty. But no one had been claiming that. The misleading headline successfully enticed the vast number of Pattaya experts and bashers to get their knickers in a twist and react, and now watch this vid. Not only TikTok needs page views.

No. The poll shows that more people search for the Pattaya hashtag. Why so many is the real question he purports to answer but actually offers no objective data, just a claim that more people film vids of Pattaya and add the hashtag. That really doesn't account for 128.5 million views--or the 9 million tourists Pattaya received in 2019. That flub would only appeal to the naive.

Note that Pattaya is reduced to WS, LK Metro, and Soi Buakhao. And NOT a beach and promenade w/ broad-based activities and appeal but "the coconut bar." Now there we have the only "sites" worth filming or looking for on TikTok.???? Obvious bias w/ appeal to a limited readership w/ narrow interests.

Pattaya and "number 2" in the same sentence . . .
