Sir Tom Jones' hit, Delilah, has been banned from the Principality Stadium the Welsh Rugby Union has announced.

The 1968 song about a jealous lover stabbing his unfaithful partner has been removed from choir playlists.

The announcement comes after the WRU has come under fire for allegations of sexism and misogyny.

One of my fave pop songs.

My Brazilian girlfriend liked it, and after I did a translation she loved it, would play it for her girlfriends.

Welsh rugby teams have choirs?

I never paid attention to the lyrics of the song because it always got on my nerves like most of his songs.

He states he is holding a knife in his hand.

Not exactly my idea of "art".

Nobody pays much attention to lyrics.

Lyrics

I saw the light on the night that I passed by her window
I saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind
She was my woman
As she deceived me, I watched and went out of my mind

My, my, my, Delilah
Why, why, why, Delilah
I could see, that girl was no good for me
But I was lost like a slave that no man could free

At break of day when that man drove away, I was waiting
I crossed the street to her house and she opened the door
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more

My, my, my, Delilah
Why, why, why, Delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me Delilah, I just couldn't take anymore

She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more

My, my, my, Delilah
Why, why, why, Delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me, Delilah, I just couldn't take anymore
Forgive me, Delilah, I just couldn't take anymore

Do you think that songs about killing females are acceptable to be sung by Choirs and sports fans ?

Stabbing to death his girlfriend is OK to sing about ?

I've gone all woke and think its a song about mental illness.

That brilliant fun song, "Baby its cold outside', has also had a hard time from the 'woke' crowd in recent years. Apparently Chief Musical Drip of the USA, John Legend, has recorded a rewritten sanitised version which I won't link!

My favourite version - Tom Jones in trouble again . . . it's fun, remember?

'Bloody freezing in' it' LOL

It's a pity the Woke left don't ban Knife crimes and stabbings on the means street of London too ,

The woke left is all about virtue signalling and unicorn chasing over direct action ... the world is going to Rat Sh*t

Just try and stop the Welsh Rugby fans singing it come the six nations. Banning it is like red rag to a lot of Welsh bulls. ????

Next match, this Saturday- Wales V Ireland - wait for it!????

Knife crimes and stabbings are actually banned all over the UK , not just London

They should replace it with 'Cocaine Blues', no knife crime in that song. ????

It's not a song about "killing females", it's a fictional song lyric about one (fictional)  crime of passion.

Singing about a fictional situation is no different than it being written about in novels that are read by millions and no one is complaining about those.

A sensationally awful version of it.

That would be a claim of insignificance, not a claim to fame, no one's still heard of you.

That should guarantee several full blast renderings at the next international match!

Mind you I am quite surprised that Rugby is on the "woke" radar!

Can't say I'm a fan of the song, but banning it is ridiculous.

They'll be banning "Sweaty Betty" by The Macc Lads next... ????
