The dog killer in question brutally slashed each dog and left their dead bodies on a road causing outrage among locals and animal rights activists. A 43 year old local man, Apichart Leeasa, who encountered the dead stray dogs, reported the issue to the media and Kantang Municipality. According to Apichart, the stray dogs were about one year old and suffered fatal stab wounds to their bodies. He found them lying dead in a pool of blood. A damaged headlamp and grille of a pickup were also found at the scene, leading Apichart to believe that the dog killer drove a pickup. In an interview with the news website 77 Kaoded, Apichart expressed his sadness over the incident and revealed that over 100 stray dogs were wandering around in the area. He stated that the dogs did not do anything wrong and did not deserve to die. The leader of Kantang Municipality’s public health department, Sakda Maneesin, investigated the scene and questioned locals living nearby the stadium about the incident. According to eyewitnesses, a man on a motorcycle visited the scene at around 5am on Monday. The man got off his motorcycle wielding a long knife and suddenly slashed the dogs. He were staying with the dogs 24/7 and personally witnessed that the dogs never attacked anyone? All these dogs are a plague in Thailand and more people should follow his example. If they would not eat so much trash, you could even eat them. 5 1 2 2 3 9 2

Some ones signature here i saw was something along these lines "some people are only alive because it is illegal to kill them" Same for these soi dogs. I like dogs as well. The reason why we like them is because we domesticated them and they are "part of our family", so to speak. They can help with protecting the house, the family, herd herding animals and hunting. But the dogs in Thailand are outta control, because the Buddhism and low Testosterone Levels makes the Thai Society and especially men that should take care of this issue too passive. That is why I said this was a good example. Not because I like the way of killing, could be more human, but even that is not that bad because they are animals and are used to harsh and brutal deaths in nature. We humans generally kill very fast and cruel-less compared to other species. But because I always like to see when a Thai man finally do what he really wants to do inside. Too much is wrong in this country based on this wrong behavior of holding yourself back all the time. So yeah, nice to see! 1 2 3 1 2

I don't think that anything justifies taking a life, human or canine, especially an innocent uncomprehending life. And yes, I do eat meat. I also struggle with the way that the animals are sometimes kept and slaughtered. 2 1 2 1

Don Chance Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 India and Nepal are worse for stray dogs and people routinely die from rabies caused by bites. Even after they have received the treatment vaccine. https://www.downtoearth.org.in/news/health/rabies-deaths-in-kerala-despite-vaccinations-raises-concerns-84895
Popular Post TXTony Posted May 10, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 10, 2023 Nobody seems to know exactly what happened but I would guess that there is a high likelihood that someone was pissed that the stray dogs caused a financial loss when the truck got damaged. They then went back to get revenge. 4 2

Popular Post transam Posted May 10, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 10, 2023 Thailand still has rabies, I am not surprised they do, with these wandering packs of pests. Though I do have a dog that doesn't wander in a pack.............???? 2 1

I don't like taking life, any life, without a profound reason. It is, I admit, often a position which is hard to justify. 1
Popular Post HappyExpat57 Posted May 10, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 10, 2023 These bastards are the bane of bicyclists! I recently rode to a 7/11, locked my bike, and walked in for milk. When I came out, there was one of these mangy mutts blocking the exit. I walked around it, not a problem. Unlocked my bike, no problem. The instant I hopped on the seat and placed a foot on a pedal, the barking and growling started right in. The only reason I didn't start shooting it with my air gun was the pellets could have gone into the store as it had opened the door when it jumped up. 1 1 1 2

They dont have to be killed. But deport them. To a country that deserves it. Like Russia. In the past unwanted criminals were deported to Australia. Still a lot of place in the Outback - the only problem I see is when they not even allow a Subway Sandwich in.... 3

I would hope they return the dog to its owner and fine the owner for allowing the dog to escape the premises... and thats exactly the solution in Thailand. Dogs are either someones pet and as such are collared and kept on premises. If not, they are strays / Soi Dog sand should be put down humanely or at the very least euthanised. This an extremely unpopular opionion and has been met with a great deal of criticism, yet the ‘humanity’ in this part of the equation is preventing generations of future animals from suffering on the streets. Had this issue been resolved 25 years ago, there would not have been 25 years of these dogs suffering on Thailand’s streets and numerous children would not have been mauled. 2 3 2

Not where I am, they're not. Here everyone knows a dog belongs to someone, no need for collars and leashes. Dogs are free to roam, unless someone takes umbrage and poisons them. Not everyone here has a property in which to keep a dog off the street, no fences, etc...making sure people know a dog belongs is enough. We feed each other's dogs when the owners can't, we make sure the dogs are aware that they belong to someone. No stray dogs here, except during breeding season then the local males make sure they know they're not welcome... 2 1

Popular Post hughrection Posted May 10, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 10, 2023 Was just recently bitten by a dog when out walking. Off to the local hospital and just got my 3rd rabies vac. I also had to get 2 more shots of tetanus and 1 more later. Total cost was 300 baht for each shot. (1800 baht) Woman who owns the dogs and 5 others!!! would only pay the wife 1000 baht. I had to drive to the hospital on 3 separate occasions, wife needed to close her business and spent an average of 1 hour in the hospital each time with me. Uncontrolled dogs all need to be put down. This mutt is still in her not closed off yard with its 5 mates and I now need to carry a stick when I walk by. ???? 2 1
