I think a lot of them are returning to Russia. There have been a real exodus since April.

I don't mind the Russians, they keep to themselves, most don't bother others and you rarely hear them moaning and complaining like some.    We've got a few moaners and complainers here.

The Thai island of Phuket expects to welcome one million Russians this year — the biggest group of foreign visitors by far — according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Some are escaping the dim of winter. Some are dodging the draft. Others are buying local property as a ticket to a new life.

You will reap what you sow.. the good times are here now you say.

Wait until Russians start behaving like Russians.

I live in Isaan; and I love it. Don't think there is a better place to live in the world.

'Owl' is not reading the post and understanding the meaning.

Now you've let the cat out of the bag, all English reading Russians will be swarming to.........:

"Isaan: There's no better place to live in the world!"

They're gonna love you down in Isaan, Owl - haha.

a war which Russia started.

To be clear.

Many, inclusive, would dispute that.  Research UA (another USA backed regime change) at about 2004 Orange Revolution onward, then get back to us.

No really appropriate when talking about one country invading another.

It only takes one invader to create one defender.

Indeed, many are 'purchasing' ED visas?

Yes, most of them are purchasing illegal ED visas, never attending the classes. Business as usual. The agents are happy again.

It always has been attractive.

I wouldn't visit Phuket now if I was paid to go.

A lovely place 20+ years ago but now it's a rip off.

Those that go are welcome to it.

Early days yet , you obviously haven’t had any dealings with them if you had, your opinion would be somewhat different.
I thought I would like them until I started meeting them and having multiple and numerous interactions.

Of course there are and always must be exceptions however I’ve yet to find them yet

Around 20 years ago I was lucky enough to land a job in Russia which allowed me to live there for 8 years - some of the greatest and most enduring friendships I have ever had are with Russians.

Here's the surprising thing I learned about Russians - some are fat, some are thin; some are tall, some are less tall.

Much like every other country in the world, there are some d*cks amongst them, whereas the majority are decent and totally normal. They may have cultural norms which differ to yours - it took me much too long, for instance, not to get sarky when I would hold a door open for someone and they would sail past me without saying thank-you. But the problem was mine - it is not expected in Russian culture to thank someone for holding a door for them, so why would they do it?

Fact is Putin ordered the official russian army to invade Ukraine.

Fact is, there are many reasons for trade Embargos against Russia.

Fact is, Thailand shows with supporting Russians to travel on what side they are.

Fact is the Russian tourist and people should start a revolution against Putin and his dictator regime and stop the war.

As another matter of fact, Russian as tourist often have some unpleasing behavior.

In what way are regular Russians complicit? The ones avoiding the draft, for example, are actively thwarting their government's war efforts.

No, no, no! It's truly awful. Believe me. People really, really need to stay well away from Isaan.

No worries, I intend too.

It still does—stunning women, quiet lifestyle, lower cost of living.  And coastal areas only a few hours away.

let my try to understand your statement, that seems a free wording of the common Russian Narrative that formerly occupied USSR states are Russian because Russia decided to give them their independence back.

So, if I understand you correctly, in your opinion:
similarly Europe was at fault for starting the Third Reich's aggression,
and
Taiwan, as-if-and-when-may-He-above-forbid, will be at fault for being an independent Nation.
