The case unfolds: Legal aide suggests German businessman’s murder wasn’t ‘deliberate’

A legal aide representing Olaf Brinkmann, accused of murdering German businessman Hans Peter Mack, announced that the incident might not have been a deliberate act of murder.

The tragic death of the 62 year old German real estate tycoon has garnered significant global attention over the past week. Now, a fresh perspective is emerging from an inside source linked intimately to the case.

A legal aide, who carries out the duties of interpreter and also offers legal aid to one of the accused, 52 year old Brinkmann, appeared on record with Thai media on Wednesday, July 12.

The legal aide, who preferred to be known only as Matthew, said…

“Mr Olaf has continued to deny speaking with the police, however, interacting with Olaf leads me to believe that the entire incident could be accidental.

“The intention was never to end Mr Hans’ life. Things took a turn when discussions between both parties became heated, largely due to monetary matters and the associated pressure. It’s possible that Mr Hans experienced heart failure and suffered an unexpected heart attack. This situation led to panic and uncertainty for the suspects who finally made the decision to hide the body rather than alert police owing to fear of repercussions.

“Yet, as representatives of Mr Olaf, we are still attempting to piece together the actual timeline of events and cannot be certain of the sum of money involved and its purpose. This is certainly a facet that warrants further investigation.”

There must be some rather large brown envelopes flying around - Or I do suppose have bits hacked of ones body could be a precursor for a heart attack !!!

And I suppose that when he suffered this alleged heart attack, he also hit himself over the head multiple times?

Because, according to the info on one of the other threads on this matter:

His head had deep wounds showing he had been hit several times.

Seems reasonable to me.  While suffering a heart attack, he fell onto a chainsaw then into a freezer.  Happens everyday.

The chainsaw must have slipped and hit his head after he died.

If a heart attack really did kill Mr Mack, an autopsy would have shown so. Therefore there was no good reason for the accused to panic, and think that they would have been accused of murder. They need to hire a better lawyer, the current one doesn't come up with very good excuses.

I'm sure if they searched through the freezer they would find a heart, then plug in their equipment to find out the condition of Mack’s heart

Yeah, nice try. Not buying it. If this was true they could’ve just called the cops, they would’ve had an autopsy performed, which would’ve confirmed it was a heart attack and everyone would’ve gone home instead of trying to flee the country and now to prison!

Walking away from someone who has succumbed to cardiac issues vs chopping them up when they succumb to cardiac issues.   Must have taken hours of thought to conjure that one up.

Yes.....Hardly the first time this defence came up!

Yep, I reckon if someone got the chainsaw out and starting cutting me up I'd have a heart attack to, all accidental.

Yes.I like to have a good laugh at least once a day. Some of these statements make me laugh a ton!

Ya he had a hear attack and died while we were negotiating so we panicked and thought we better chop him into pieces and freeze him until the medics arrived. A real knee slapper. OMG

Worst story ever. The chainsaw was for a bbq perhaps as well?

Not everyday but quite often, and normally near a canal.

With what look like prison Tats,

a gang member perhaps

Oh his had a heart attack, lets all go shopping, and order a new freezer too.

Grasping at straws saying he could have had a heart attack ????

What was the purpose of the chainsaw ????

it was a predictable outcome  they are all guilty ☠

That IS the German. I guess the ‘representative’ is the one next to him.

52?? ughh this guy abused his body.. if found guilty hes gonna go away for a long time..dont think brown envelopes will help too much..those envelops normally only work without much transparency

I think with this statement they are trying to avoid a charge of premeditated murder with (I think) a mandatory death sentence. Also mandatory for murdering to conceal a crime (I think).
