A 23 year old woman fell victim to a brutal assault by her jealous boyfriend, culminating in her death. Initial claims suggested the situation was a mere conversation about splitting up but it escalated into a fierce argument, and tragically, a physical altercation.

Around 10pm yesterday, police officials from Chon Buri City Police Station received a report about a severe assault on a young woman inside a rental room at 300/52, Group 1, Khlong Tamru, Mueang, Chon Buri. Emergency services and the Tri Khun Tham Chonburi charity foundation were swiftly dispatched to the scene.

On arrival at the incident location, the woman, identified as Pailin Thongpradit, was found unconscious, her life signs faint, and her face noticeably bruised. The emergency medical staff quickly administered preliminary treatment before arranging for her transfer to Chon Buri Hospital.

Despite their efforts, including continual cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Pailin remained in a coma and inevitably passed away at Wiparam Amata Nakorn Hospital at 10.45pm.

The perpetrator, a 28 year old man known as Sathian Ap-Srirom, acknowledged his wrongdoings. He revealed that, in his jealous rage, having caught Pailin secretly seeing another man,

1. Wonder if he will acknowledge it when offered a 30 years sentence

2. We only have his word now as the other side is extinguished, but nice he blames her for her own death basically

Most likely so because his 30 year sentence automatically reduces to a 15 year sentence.

Appears that way. My wife and especially more so now her 10year old daughter have no filter or intermediate level between placid state and the raging, foaming psychopathic state that we read about every day in the English language Thai media.

Any sign of life, then CPR should be stopped!  She remained in a coma until she died, so obviously there was a sign of life!

Yep the victim blaming in DV is truly vile and repulsive Richard.

You know him?  How could you know what social pharmaceuticals he used or didn't use?

Gawd...he was arrested before the article was published.

Funny how reading the full OP has no appeal to so many posters.

The Thai bashing is strong in this thread.

Nope, that was when they arrived,  depends on what happened next. News reporting is very poor and facts are always left out in these stories.  She may have gone into cardiac arrest shortly after they arrived since she apparently fell into a coma at some point.

Shame he wasn't terminated fleeing the scene and resisting arrest.

Doesn't really matter how you feel about him, Thai law mandates that a confession earns a 50% reduction of any sentence subsequently issued by a judge. Thai judges aren't known to issue excessively high sentences in order to get around this 'discount' scheme either.
