A 26-year-old Russian man, identified here as Mr. A, has denied any association with the notorious 'Call Center' gang based in Cambodia.

He was detained by Bang Kaew police in Samut Prakan province amidst allegations of involvement in a sweeping money laundering scheme related to the gang, reported Daily News.

This investigation grew particularly alarming when a man, under the pressure of debts induced by the gang's deceitful practices, reportedly murdered his wife and two children, causing three deaths in Samut Prakan.

On September 4th, Police Lieutenant Colonel Rangsan Kamsuk, representing the Bang Kaew police chief, unveiled preliminary interrogation insights.

The probe identified ties between Mr. A's bank accounts and funds funneled for fraudulent undertakings. Yet, Mr. A maintained that his account was exclusively for cryptocurrency transactions.

As the case unravels, Mr. A is gearing up to secure bail. Concurrently, assets are being consolidated, and the police are on the lookout for eight more suspects linked to the felony. The broadening investigation may result in further arrests.

Police arrested a Russian man for his involvement in a money laundering scheme for a scam call centre gang at a hotel on Koh Samui island in the southern province of Surat Thani.

The arrest, on Sunday, September 3, followed the death of three people at a house in the central province of Samut Prakarn which was reported on August 28. A Thai man attempted to commit suicide after he murdered his wife and two sons but was unsuccessful in ending his own life.

After a thorough investigation of the motive, Bang Kaew Police Station officers discovered that the murder was motivated by the family’s huge debt after the man’s wife was lured into transferring money to a scam call centre gang.

Netizens pressured officers to conduct a further investigation and arrest the scam gang behind the root cause of the tragic incident and many other previous distressing incidents.

Are you serious? What makes you think that free entry into Thailand or another month or 2 extension on visa would increase these gangs. Surely this is trivial to them coming and opening call center gangs. I do not even think a Chinese free visa will increase travel here. If they could not afford a measley few hundred baht to enter then they probably could not afford their plane tickets.

As for the Op. I think he better confess to get lesser sentence while he can and get out of Thailand ASAP.

Yes, I do agree with you 100%. You are absolutely right. The new prime minister is taking a move to the wrong direction! Probably being manipulated by TAT, a big mafia in Phuket.

There are lot of unsavoury characters around at the moment.

So your in debt the only way out is to kill yourself and  all your immediate family?

I can understand why one might contemplate suicide but I don't get taking the misses and kid with you?

Am I missing a cultural thing here?

I remember when TAT were tripping over themselves to get the Chinese and Russians in... claiming a huge tourist success story.

Reap what you sow.

I am sure the authorities will be checking his bank account and telephone

Numbers to see if he is involved or not in the Crypto scams

"... was exclusively for cryptocurrency transactions."

Read enough. He's guilty!

The problem is, how do you tell the difference between normal tourists, and criminals ? You see all sorts in the airport who look like respectable tourists. Tattoos are very common these days, lots of men wear bermudas and tshirts, not like years ago when everyone dressed for travel. Ive seen some awful scruffs at immigration, doubt they all all criminals . So how can airport staff or immigration ?
I have noticed over 35 years that the criminal population of Thailand has soared lately. Maybe they are more savvy and shrewd with all the options open to them/ technology etc.

say what you want about the old biler rooms, but at least they had the common sense to stay way from thai nationals, and just use the place for operations.

As for existing call-center gangs, it has widely been reported that they move around their Chinese staff illegally across land-borders from Cambodia via Laos and Thailand to Myanmar... Legal entries don't seem to be an issue for them, as supposedly, they are already in immigration computer-networks, so flying, or legal land-border crossings are out of the question for them.

You're missing a human psychology thing here. A person who is distraught and suicidal is not thinking rationally. The irrational mind is capable of anything. Your mistake is comparing this to ordinary people in ordinary circumstances.

???? Code for performing a disappearing act on his funds?

Just got back from Siem Reap.  Didn't notice any Russian MILFS walking around in thong bikinis or Russian men with giant block heads from fetal alcohol poisoning, so much nicer than Phuket. ????
