She did, much to the annoyance of somebody on here, why did they let her do that if they knew it was an Australian bloke? I actually do know an Australian bloke James Mitchell Phd, his Phd is in Thai music and only the second foreigner to get one, as far as I know. Yinn knew more about Thai music than he does, apart from the history of Kratai and other record labels, so if it was another Australian it would have been quite amazing achievement.

Yinn was definitely a Thai person. I got some advice on Thai language from her.

Totally agree! It has been highjacked by a hard core of approx. 12 idiots/Bots/paid for posters who may be increasing the "click count" but are ruining the site!

  • The fun has been lost.   We used to have fun posts about sightings of Michelin men and Mountain Dew and the like.   Now almost every post degrades into pages of off topic bickering

It is strange how some on here still don't get it about the imposter behind Yinn, but Proton has met her/him.......... Hilarious........😂

I was not the only one who met her from here, but you know better behind your key board and soaking up what others told you about IP locations

what is BM?

No, it's B.M., which are initials..........🥴

Now a question for you, but first sit back, relax, and think about the question.

Ready......?

Why would a rare female Thai poster get removed from 2 recognised Thai based  forums....?

Now take your time, don't say anything stupid, which is your trait....🥴

OK, time to call STOP !

the odd question/remark and even brief exchange is ok, but pursuing it like this is derailing this thread.

Just saw this "Ranks are being recalculated. We'll show your current rank here soon." ?

Will that be from Admiral down to deckhand?

Had to read that twice, my head read something entirely different at first. 😀

I don't mean anything that you imagine, gender, eeeeeer, member Yinn was a purported female, member Aussie bloke was a male, both at the same addresses using the same machine...

Is that too difficult for you to understand, if it is, you really should have a Kitkat... 😉

"you really should have a Kitkat ...) or a Bex and a good lie down 😉

Perhaps having been a member for nearly 21 years I should be getting some sort of long service rank delivered by hand - if I am allowed to say that!

Oops already did.

I too haven't ignored anyone as I want to hear all sides of a debate, even from the ill-informed.

There is a tendancy for people to retreat to their own echo-chambers (including myself) so as annoying and biased as some posters may be on a subject, I've never felt the need to put them on 'ignore' as if you don't hear their side then you're not hearing all of the debate nor probably what many, many people actually think.

I see it as a way of trying to understand the psycology behind a viewpoint, which in turn I think is quite fascinating in itself.

Once the filtration begins it might end an undesirable place.  For example, Youtube filtered out all baseball content and I just learned that my favorite team is in the World serries. Odd, how we have access to so much information today but at the same time we are missing so much we would have read/seen pre-internet.   Some think that alternative views are from the fringe because they are bombarded by youtube, X, etc with material that matches their believes.

granddads... new generations ...

The generation gap is huge now, I guess most of the granddads cannot keep up? 😜

BNK48 is not bad. But almost not noticeable compared to their original Japanese sisters.

I guess what annoys me most are the constant new posts from a few members. It seems like they just have to post something new all the time - independent of any value.

It can happen that I ask two questions in one day. And then maybe nothing for two weeks. It just depends if something interesting comes to my mind. Just filling the forum with new threads is irritating - at least for me.

I blocked most of the annoying people. But I still see all their new threads in the list on the right. Skip, skip, skip, this might be interesting, skip, skip...

I hear you mate - I only joined because of the story about Thailand taxing Expats remittances, but it has now deteriorated into mainly squabbles and insults.  Likewise, the thread about the Israel War has done the same.  And I just read a thread where a guy is asking about what type of doctor and where to go. Sheryl gave a response but he did not answer her questions, and then he complained when she asks the same questions again. He still has not answered her questions.  It is not just the forum IMO - it is people - since Covid they are far more 'annoying'.

Lets assume it was a fake, which she was not. How could anyone possibly know it was male and Australian? You don't have to come up with a name just explain that.

After at least 10 comments about that Yinn thing you also end up on my ignore list. I won't waste more time on that s#$&.

Two members at the same address, the same two members using another address on the other side of an Island, perhaps home and work....

I do not know the tech used, but I was privy to the above......😉

Probably Yinn and her lover were always together in his or her place. 😉

Thread Wreckers I call them. They join a thread see if its going well then start posting nonsense and B/S wind up members posting till the thread is locked or posters are put off with the lies and spreading false info.

Thanks for all your posts in this thread.

In the first days not many members posted.

In the last 24h or so 10 pages were filled with posts.

I didn't count how many of them were about that potty from years ago. I guess that kind of proves my point: What happened to this forum? It's going down down down down.

The forum is better in some ways, less stuffy than it used to be years ago, you get a taste of that when a group of them come back from another forum and bang on, like thaiger. Yes it's dumbed down a bit but anyone can post topics so if you don't like it, get posting

'Twas a time when all the miscreants from TV populated thaiger forum and ran amok, but as they gradually got banned things improved, for a while.  Then the Ads fooked it up and 'click-bait news' was created by chatGPT out of twitter and other soc. media garbage and even the mods bailed.

AN isn't bad and I don't see any ads so I'm happy.  I frequent other less well-known forums where political discussion is verboten but everything else is open slather.  Best of both worlds.

Some of the Mods on that site Mc had friends. If you had a go at them you got a warning if you asked why you were banned. They were allowed to carry on Attacking you without you being able to defend yourself. Even Tim Newton bailed out in the End.

I still remember the topic about Hobbies ... fredwiggy said he likes hunting , I said I do not like killing of animals ... You called me a woke leftist ...

No sympathy from me . Don't pretent that , if this forum is going down , it is not because of comments like yours .
