Also Proton states that in his 25 years of reading forums, we always accuse Thai women posters of being fake?  That has not been my experience at all.  I mostly have only read this forum but when Thai women have posted on here they were treated very nicely as opposed to Western women who used to be set upon, intimidated and mostly harassed away.  Most Western women were too afraid to post here at all!!

Totally agree! It has been highjacked by a hard core of approx. 12 idiots/Bots/paid for posters who may be increasing the "click count" but are ruining the site!

  • The fun has been lost.   We used to have fun posts about sightings of Michelin men and Mountain Dew and the like.   Now almost every post degrades into pages of off topic bickering

Wasn't Yinn a male mod living out a fantasy?

Maybe.  I would like to hear the true story …some of you know.  A new interesting thread perhaps??

I’m very happy to read that Yinn was fake.  I was one of the posters who believed she was a fake and wrote about it.  I believe I received some strong warnings to stop harassing her.  The way she was allowed to harass and insult Transam was pretty shocking.  It seemed to some of us at the time that she must have been employed by TV in order to get away with all that she did.

Whatever the circumstances were it is sad that Nancy lost POTY to that situation.

I liked Nancy. Didn't care much for that Yinn fella.

agree, the amount of obvious click bait/fake posts/posters has slowly been increasing, alongside this  the amount of intrusive ads bit by bit takes over the screen. clearly a strategic decision was made to improve the financials at the cost of the quality of the site. i spend far less time here for these reasons, and without an ad blocker i honestly wouldn't bother at all.

Just now, it is what it is said:

The people that met her in real life say she was real .

One of those former TV members (no longer posts) was a near neighbour and swore that Yinn was genuine - he supported her bona fides despite the fact he'd never met her.

KhunT is correct, Yinn was fake and dodgy photos were often posted by RobMuir (aka Yinn) to whet BM's appetite.  No one met her!

I wasn't here at the time of that , but R.M also used to post on the other site .

On the other site there was a poster that was going to Yinns hometown for a few days and offered to meet up with Yinn and indeed they did meet up (I dont recall his name, but I also forgot R.M's name until you mentioned it) , the poster who met Yinn mentioned that her little mummy bump was showing and a few months later Yinn posted a few photos of her and her new born son .

I arent bothered about whether she was fake or not , I just used to like the posts from the poster with the handle of Yinn

It's an interesting tale. I remember Rob Muir's posts and he had a very different style to Yinn so if he was Yinn I applaud his versatility. I think he posted about thai music sometimes which was Yinn's thing. Rumak said he met her and posted a photo but may have been having a laugh.

A couple of years ago when there was a mass exodus to a different site I had a look and the Yinn posts seemed to continue to be fairly passionate about politics, treatment of women, Thai music and Thai history. Would seem a bit bizarre to keep up such a charade over multiple sites for multiple years for no apparent gain or benefit. The broken english did seem a bit convoluted but some said it is normal for a Thai to be like that.

Red pill theory is nothing to do with prostitution.

It's all about stopping women from exploiting and controlling you.

True. I was an early adaptor (and an early abandoner). I took a lot of benefit from the concepts of holding frame, IDGAF, and do-do tests.

But Black Pill doomism (AWALT, body counts, The Wall) hardened it into laughable nuttiness; just like I was always in favor of very controlled immigration and then that somehow blew up into MAGA.

Red Pill basically became The Rules for men, a bunch of voodoo implausibly promising results. Throwing their lot with PUA was a big mistake. But according to its doctrine, if you're simping for low money, you're still simping.

You're not betabux for a land whale, you're now on the hook for a petite rural peasant instead. It's a step sidewise, not up. You're betabux on a budget.

That's the firm Red Pill verdict, not my own. I'm not dissing ThaiBeachLover; he's just about my favorite poster here and a solid must-click whenever I see his name.

I'm not saying that improving your sex odds by moving to poverty-land is a bad idea, or even an immoral idea. I think it's a great idea, and at minimum, a very nervy idea that not one man in 100,000 will dare to do. But it's not a Red Pill idea, which is based on getting off the sex role carousel (to use the lingo), not just finding a cheaper seat on it.

Expats here having multiple social media accounts, signing up again to forums and websites they've been booted (or driven ) out of, and carrying on with long held grudges is, in my experience, quite prevalent. Maybe says something about the crowd...

One reoccurring feature of many of the other forum/website (especially those started by people who were kicked out) are ongoing topics badmouthing TVF/AN, rehashing old sins, complaining about this or that (plus the obligatory self pet on the back). It's almost a cliche. Goes up every time a new add from here joins.

Some years back, people from another forum (most back here now, I think) did a fake account going but the then new forum owner. Was kinda funny while it lasted.

Without interesting posters boards die, there simply is no reason to visit. It is difficult to build an interesting, large web board, but it is very easy to ruin it.

I have personal experience of that with the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree forum. The Thailand forum was a vibrant fun place to spend a few hours on and newbies actually got to learn stuff about Thailand. Site got sold, woke mods took over and forum lost so many experienced posters that it turned to <deleted> and was of no use to anyone. They cancelled it during covid and no idea if it started again.

Thank you for that. It's the nicest thing anyone said about me on this forum.

I'll do my best not to disappoint in future.

:wai:

However about the pill theories; I got lost somewhere in the technicalities and will have to look it up on our friend google.

This forum was great in the golden era of forums, re 2002-2006. Thai Visa and Ajarn.com.

Surprised I was never a moderator, as I knew both owners :sleepy:

Personally, if I could time travel back to the days when I was an impressionable youth and thought women were special I'd give myself a good slapping and tattoo my right hand "this is better than the real thing".

I might have avoided the user that took me for everything and left me to start over from scratch at 35.

However, life does teach us if we want to learn, and after working as a nurse ( where women outnumber males by about a 100 to 1- my first hospital had 900 female nurses and 6 males ) I did learn that women are just people and not much different mentally than guys. We are all just trying to make it through the day and perhaps find a bit of happiness along the way.

Where we differ I learned, is that women can get by far more easily without men than men can get by without women.

However the power of the small head is strong, too strong to resist, and therein lies the power of women to control men and make them do things they shouldn't, like spending loadsacash just to fly to LOS for a two week bonkfest. Guilty as charged.

During that time a day without Thai Visa was a day wasted, and I spent far too much time on it. I even got into strife at work for having a surreptitious gander at it on the work computer ( I didn't stop doing that, just got more sneaky when doing so ).

I remember the exact time it all changed and it was a certain day in November in 2016. after that I got suspended more times than I can remember, and my relationship with TVF became more adversarial.

Guilty as charged.

100% Truth.

In Red Pill, they had the noble concept of Men Going Their Own Way, where stoic hard-hearts would just wait the harridans out (while weightlifting).

Red Pill became like being a Libertarian -a contrarian fantasy that makes the believer feel good, but blows up when confronted by reality. It's hilarious to Venn diagram MAGA, Red Pill, and Libertarianism - the copium is strong.

Men could not really bear to go their own way, at least not without looking over their shoulders every 5 minutes.

The person who needs sex/affection less can negotiate harder. That is very seldom the man.

Lonely Planet was ruined by idiots who wouldn't stop fighting about Israel. I asked Tony Wheeler, and he laughed and agreed. He rued the day when he moved from it just being Postcards (little travel stories) and became a forum. The Woman Traveler's section was, for example, 85% men. He'd gotten rid of stuff like the Politics branch and the Woman's branch years before offloading it.

The Political Branch still staggers on on another site. You can google it. You need to get permission before you can view the site.
