Four armed police officers faced with the drastic threat of 1 man armed with a baseball bat were forced to withdraw and call "Thai SWAT"

They don't get paid enough to cop a flogging.

Knowing how to spell the concept is obviously different than the ability to use it. You don't seem to understand the simple concept of staying on topic

Don't be so narrow minded really...a specific topic can lead to a larger array of thoughts and ideas all related...provided of course one uses the simple concept of the brain.

No doubt these guys have been watching way too many Bollywood films, the only other explanation is that they are major heroin dealers. Either way, round them up, lock them up or deport them ASAP.

This is only half the story, no mention here about the 20 cars and the mini zoo and a Ukrainian woman arrested,

Gangsters doing gangster things. This is what you get when you fling open the gates to anyone with a passport. Most "quality tourist" are not looking to stay on holiday for more than 30 days. Just the sketchy ones.

Really? Where did your get this interesting bit of information on the length of people's vacations?

Na, they attacked cops.

Bring in a Vietnamese specialist from the War to teach these guys a proper lesson.  Maybe there's a Japanese officer or two from WW2 who could pass along their skills to a new generation.  The Americans could send a few guards from Guantanamo Bay to extract any information the filthy overstayers might be holding back.

Thai cops are able to forcibly extract information out of criminals on their own, 2 decades back a Beach Road ladyboy picked my pocket and took my Nokia phone, when I chased him/her down and called for the cops, we ended up a police box at the beginning of Walking Street, the cops pressured the ladyboy as to the whereabouts of my phone, when he/she didn't give the location, the cops started kicking him/her in the shins with their boots till he/she ultimately confessed it was handed off to another ladyboy.  I got my phone back that night, 555.

A contingent of multiple Immigration police combined with local police officers had to withdraw from a confrontation and call in SWAT for backup reinforcements because they encountered ONE threatening foreigner with a baseball bat????

Are those guys actually real police, or just lackeys who sit around drinking coffee in police kiosks, filling out paperwork and periodically collecting brown envelopes?  They need SWAT to take down one guy with a baseball bat?

It's easy to be a armchair quarterback after the situation has passed. Be there in real time, with no crystal ball to see the future and I'd expect a show of overwhelming force to handle this volatile situation.  20/20 hindsight is easy to pick apart after the event.

How can they get such basic info wrong. They're definitely Indian in the photos on the fb page, if that's them sitting down. And some tattooed dude who could be anyone. Harley bikes and a hillside villa... more to this story than simple overstay.

Well yes, more to this story than a simple overstay. Wonder if they have a tax number?

'The inquiry revealed that this group of suspects are Indians. The wife of the leader is from Ukraine. Three months ago, they came to rent and buy land for a luxury villa for 500 million baht, with an area of at least 10 rai, and they lived as a family of more than 20 people, with a Thai housekeeper and a Thai gardener.

An antique military vehicle is positioned as a sign at the villa’s gate, equipped with security guards and its own ambulance. There are more than 20 luxury cars inside, each with a licence plate that does not match the car’s registration, and more than 30 drones.

In addition, two white lion cubs worth over two million baht, two macaws, two raccoons, and one meerkat were discovered with no proof of possession. They were confiscated and turned over to the Choeng Thale Police Station for storage and examination'

The first class tourists.

If you judge the class by this incident, there will be many more nationalities to join this 'class' of yours.

Sounds like Russians to me but the Phuket plod has to deny their Russian due to the Thai PM embracing Putin for a holiday in Thailand. How would it look if Russian overstayers were kicked out so its easier to blame Indians less money than draft dodgers?
