I support people from the west considering moving abroad for financial arbitrage motivations, especially retirees, successful digital nomads, etc.

Housing costs in the U.S., Canada, U.K. etc are ruinous.

However people need to be realistic and understand that no target country is a paradise and they need to be realistic about how they are going to support themselves, as the place may be cheaper but it sure won't be free, especially if working in the local economy (plus of course visas). So you solve some problems leaving, but you gain some new problems as a trade off.

Ruparelia is an Indian (Hindu) surname - most likely from western Gujarat. Very likely that's where his parents hail from - possibly via East Africa.

Anyway, its yet another nonsense article based on some self-promoting TikToker.  Not sure why the media bother with these stories. I don't suppose he'll be any more successful in Thailand than in the UK.  Not sure what career opportunities Thailand can offer over the UK.  Possibly he can take a position teaching English on poverty wages with no pension.

Despite all the criticism of the UK there are still lots of opportunities to get on.  My wife arrived from Thailand in 2015 with virtually no English and no qualifications and in 2016 went into partnership in a hotel/restaurant. She now makes serious money - many times what she'd earn in Thailand.

He's a TikToker....

Families of Indian (Hindu) heritage have usually been quite successful in the UK. So he's presumably financing his relocation through Bank of Mum & Dad. Obviously he'll have visa challenges ahead.

And at 22 he's going to make a lot of mistakes, but good luck to him.

For his purposes he should prioritize paths to permanent residency and citizenship. Nowhere in Asia. Possibilities in Latin America.
