Pattaya — A chopper rider sustained serious burn injuries in a fiery collision with a pickup truck on Sukhumvit Road early Friday morning, March 15th.

The accident occurred at 3:00 AM at the intersection of Motorway 7, inbound to Chonburi, in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Rescue Foundation received a report of the crash and dispatched emergency responders to the scene.

There, rescue workers found Mr. Yutthana Empong, a chopper rider, lying in the road with severe burns. He received first aid and was transported to Banglamung Hospital for emergency treatment.

Mr. Yutthana’s vehicle, a black chopper, was found badly damaged and engulfed in flames. Bystanders extinguished the fire with fire extinguishers before emergency services arrived.

muppet:

/ˈmʌpɪt/

Derogatory, an incompetent or foolish individual. Typically, a Muppet will slam his motorcycle into the back of a stationery utility vehicle waiting at a red light.

3 AM, speeding, totally blind for red light and waiting vehicle.

Are they doing post-mortem alcohol test?

A new meaning of the word 'chopper' for me.

In my (antique) version of the English language it's a helicopter ...

A passenger in the pickup truck, Mr. Sang, a 45-year-old Laotian national, stated that he witnessed the motorcycle approaching at high speed before colliding with the back of the truck and bursting into flames.

Police are still investigating the exact cause of the accident as of press time

Speed and no attention to the surroundings..

Rider had no brains

Looks like a Honda Rebel 300 to me. That's not a chopper.

Which was established several times in the OP.

Hard to believe there was any speeding involved with so many roads under construction in Pattaya! I can hardly get up to 30 km/h most days around the city! LOL

Please don't be angry if I point this out, I really don't mean to be the grammar police and I couldn't since it's not my native language, but I  inform you that there is a rather important difference between stationery vehicle and stationary vehicle. Redundant too, since the vehicle is waiting at a red light. Unless you mean that Muppets only slam into stationary stationery vehicles, that would be quite selective.

If you read the FULL article, it was not a bystander.

Quote

Mr. Jakkrit told Banglamung police that he was transporting workers to a worksite when the collision occurred. He stated he was stopped at a red light when he felt a forceful impact from behind. He saw the motorcycle on fire and immediately moved his vehicle to the gas station before extinguishing the flames and calling for help.

I did read the linked article and this was written:

It ain't a chopper unless it's chopped. The bike in the OP is a bog standard production bike in cruiser style, nothing chopped about it.

Um.. no, it is a modified bike with extended forks  the one in this article does not look like a "chopper."
