Somethings do not quite add up here. Not denying the collision happened, but how can anyone allege he was 4 times over the limit, he is suspected of fleeing to Cambodia, but he attended a hospital.

It is alleged that Yamada was four times over the legal alcohol limit at the time of the incident.

The Thai authorities have since issued an arrest warrant for him, suspecting that he has fled across the border to Cambodia.

At the hospital on the night of the crash, he was evidently still very drunk and denied any involvement. I could not believe it.

Thai police are actively pursuing the American,

Yup, the American guy is a POS… & I hope they catch him.    BUT, why report this 2 month old story now ?  ….. piggy backing on the “bad farang” rhetoric much ????

None of this is relevant to the report, or the post. Who gives a toss about where 'Japanese Americans' live in the US. In any event, aren't all Americans just 'Americans' regardless of race or ethnici

Neither is Kowalski, O'Reilly or Goldstein but there are many Americans with those names. Are you anti Japanese.

What is relevant here is that a drunk idiot mowed down a family, caused all kinds of mayhem and then fled from the scene of a crime. Who would do something like that, what is wrong with that person, what kind of a lowlife flees from the scene of a crime after causing grave injury?

Probably because the family didn't immediately sell their story to the Daily Mirror.

HOLIDAY HELL Brit family including girl, 4, mowed down by ‘very drunk’ driver riding motorbike while on dream holiday in Thailand

London Published: 8:53, 18 Mar 2024Updated: 11:39, 18 Mar 2024

(Gregory) Yamada, from San Jose, California, was allegedly four times over the limit at the scene.

He was driving a powerful Honda motorbike and was charged with "driving while drunk causing a crash that injured other people".

Cops have since issued an arrest warrant for him after the fugitive is thought to have fled across the border to Cambodia.

America was built on and still heavily relies on migrants, I didn't know they had to change their name on entry?

I'm just surprised that the American's name isn't Sacoulis!

Causes an accident in a foreign country and then skips the country, condoned by the US government.

Diplomatic  immunity ......again?

Aren't we off topic here arguing over what constitutes an American name other than Chief Sitting Bull?

Poor guy having his life shattered while on a dream family holiday.

Scots don't like the English. This Brit thing is an illusion.

I am English and I lived in Scotland for 7 years, but don't recall that Scots don't like us.

You obviously don't know much about Scotland - I was even married to a Scots lady.

My eldest daughter was born in Scotland.

Stop watching trash like Mel Gibson's 'Braveheart' - he did the same with 'The Patriot'

Neither are factually correct and Gibson has racist views about England - as have many others.

We don't care. We like being English and we're not all drunken pigs as many nationalities are exactly the same!

Pots and kettles!

The Sun isn't really a newspaper ,its more of a comic .

Scottish people  recently voted to remain part of England recently , rather than being independent

Well a significant part of the United Kingdom would be more  accurate way to say it......the way you put it would hardly help relations!

What a <deleted> thread. Came back for an update and it’s just a wreck on a wreck of nationalistic rubbish, likely those of ‘that’ generation that don’t do empathy. Should have known to go elsewhere. Some of you sados need to get a life.

were walking along a footpath on the island of Koh Chang

Not condoning the yanks actions in any way , but have you seen the footpaths on Koh Chang most walk in the road because of the very high curbs, no sloping access,  I'd like to hear just where this happened on Koh Chang, hitting someone on a footpath is nearly impossible, because of the extremely high curbs. Just to add not one pedestrian crossing has a road sign, not one.

It just goes to show you that all the paperwork and reporting hoops we have to jump through here so the Immigration Police can locate us at any time is really useful - not!
