Agree but wish you could buy the Marmite low salt here.  Plenty on line but at ridiculous1y high prices.

Salt is good for you. Especially in hot climates.

Grilled cheese with American processed cheese.

  • Cheese and tomato on a soft roll, roll must have real butter applied first of course.   I like a good, strong cheddar, but anything that's not the plastic cheese will actually do.

  • Cheese and Onion, Cheese & Tomatoe, Cheese & Branston Pickle.   Fav has to be Cheese on Toast with Branston pickle.

Marmite - Food of the devil

I could think of nothing worse than putting it on ham or cheese - each to his own, I realize it's one of the most divisive foods on the planet, ;D

Vegemite is better. Packed with B vitamins. Good for energy or hangover.

For those in Chiang Mai, there is a great shop near the Thapae Gate end of Ratvithi Road (same side of road as UNIrish pub). Think it is called Meat and Cheese. Specialises in toasted cheese sourdough sandwiches with optional additional fillings. They really are pretty good. Also sell the sourdough loaves.

I'm partial to cheddar cheese and grilled. If I have a choice, sourdough bread.

7-Eleven has extremely good toasted Ham & Cheese Croissant Sandwich, if lazy...

Add a banana and you have a great quick breakfast... 😎

I was going to say cheese and banana, got into the habit during covid.

I'd forgotten about Branston, worth alook for some. Can anyone recommend any toppings that aren't all sugar and additives.?

Two slices of cheddar on whole wheat with a thin spreading of mango chutney and a splash of Tabasco is my go-to when I need to eat, but don't want a meal.

Praise to England, no other nation ever took the concept as toast so seriously.

Fry egg but keep yolk soft. When the white as solidified turn over and add thin slices of cheddar. Allow to melt on the egg then put on toast or bread. Lovely.

I'll have to try that.

Thick toast , pork pate spread then layer of fried mushrooms topped with melted cheese and Worcester sauce lightly  dribbled over cheese.

Cheese n tomato (or onion) on a well-fired hard Morton's roll with plenty of butter, of course.
