Thai doctor in Swiss expat case says she has ‘stress’

A Phuket doctor at the centre of an assault case involving a Swiss expat says she is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the incident.

Thandao Chandam, a doctor at Dibuk Hospital, claims Urs Fehr kicked her in the back as she and a friend sat on steps leading to his rented Cape Yamu villa. The incident took place on the night of February 24 and the resulting furore prompted a crackdown on “law-breaking foreigners” in Phuket and further afield.

Fehr’s court hearing is expected to take place in the coming weeks, but Thandao has spoken out to express concerns that he may get off lightly. For his alleged assault on the doctor, Fehr is expected to be charged under Section 295 of the Criminal Code.

Not surprised, the bobo class of doctors, lawyers and other hi-so people here always seem to have anxiety and social issues, it's a bit like chihuahua dogs. They only seem to be able to relax a little bit once they entered a 5 star resort or hotel, country club / home.

Did a REAL doctor diagnose the PTSD?

If this minor incident gave this Dr PTSD what will she be like working in a busy A&E dealing with people with horrific crash / violent assault injuries....when there is blood and guts and brain matter all over the place...?

Really?

Maybe she should think again if she is ready to be a doctor.

Imagine if she sees someone with knife wounds. She will be totally stressed out and unable to work.

And probably she will need at least a month to recover from the trauma.

I still think the Swiss guy should be punished. But please stay with the facts. He kicked her, she had nothing broken and wasn't admitted to a hospital. Most of us would have forgotten that kick latest on the next day.

She is faking it. Trying to get money.

Whist I agree that they like their comforts, my two Chihuahuas are remarkably adept at relaxing.

Shouldn't have sat on the steps 😉

The big cowardly slug should have just asked her to leave, not kicked her in the back; but you don’t seem to have any issue with the cowardly assault, just with her getting stressed about it …. says more about you than either of them.

And BTW, it transpires that the steps were illegally constructed, so she had every right to sit where they were positioned.

Yeah until strangers come around lol. If you would give them a fair but innocent push, similar to what happened to this doc, its likely same as her.

Just pathetic really, she got justice X100 already if you look at the consequences, and to then still now beg for attention again, and coming up with nonsense... It almost confirms what I suspected in the first place, and also think to have seen watching the video, it was barely a kick, she fell over in the sand and stood up right away in split seconds.

At least post something worth replying on, as this otherwise would be the last I give... 😴

Anyone know what the betting line is on whether the Swiss guy will actually get deported and banned?  Or will he still be in Thailand (if not Phuket) in a year from now?  Maybe with a little international trip for the cameras...

Just wondered why you are defending a man whose first interaction with a woman he has never met before, was to kick her in the back rather than engage her in polite conversation; so I wondered if his course of action was something that was familiar to you.

Trying to get more money from the rich falang ? But it's mainly the lawyers who make their buck in all similar cases and not matter where in the world.

She is back for an encore performance.  She was in the wrong and started the problem.

I would suggest she respect the property rights of those legally authorised to be there and not intrude on private property as unpleasant consequences can occur, even for those deemed superior in the social hierarchy ladder.

I have party houses below my condo which are a real nuisance.  Playing music, loud talking, splashing in the pool, leaving debris everywhere, usually into the late hours of the night.  But I live with it as I only have a rinky dink elcheapo condo.  But if paying 1 million baht a month, I could understand the reasonable expectation to not have intruders affecting the renters rights.

You can't blame her, if it were the other way round, would probably be the same.

She has probably had legal bod's knocking at the door with promises.

And to be fair, only one person is responsible, a Mr.Angry Swiss bloke....🤗
