The best coffee cafe in Pattaya

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

I'm not talking about major franchises such as Starbucks but it may be in your statistical opinion it is the best ...and that's your right !

What is the best Coffee cafe in Pattaya ?

Based on beautiful tasting coffee ,a variety of coffees ,including those caramel coffees , Italian tasting cappuccino,

The aroma , the body and flavour are so important to me ,they may not be to you !!

Add to that a relaxing ambiance of the Caffe  you wish but doesn't have to be a fact nor important.

Air conditioning help with the enjoyment of coffee ?

Glass windows , of course nowadays many would vote the highest because of wifi

But let's talk the pleasure of the cup

Coffee should be a pleasure, a taste to your buds , aroma is most important, not just something to wake you up in the morning

Sweet? Bitter ?

Black coffee ?

Whats the small ones ,pinnichio

I have voted the Canterbury Tales  bookshop / cafe as the winner .

My local favourite is Back to School Cafe & Roastery in Baan Amphur, just outside Pattaya.

Another good coffee shop is Uncle Rain Wine Bar and Craft Beer in Bang Saray, also just outside Pattaya.

Really good healthy food there as well.

My favourite coffee shops are outside Pattaya, there's a world beyond the baht bus

Starbucks. Prices keep the riff raff out 😀

Try here, as we've sampled elsewhere (not Patts) and enjoyed their offerings.

Or go surfside (have not sampled), looks good, location, high reviews;

I've got a few European friends who say Benjamit coffee is the best.

I like the coffee, it's OK

I guess so. I don't really need the leather chair at a cafe, nor the a/c.

There's a cafe called 'Black Lemon' at Central Festival on the 3rd/4th?? floor facing the beach. Outdoor seating, usually very empty, nice breeze. Latte's are 50 baht or so. There's also Baicha Coffee across from Harbor Mall. Cafe in a flower/plant nursery, almost always empty. Latte's 50 baht. Cakes 70 baht. Italian ice cream 50 baht. Great place for a coffee date.

What are the reasons though ?

Great coffee ? Variety ?

Ambiance? Prices?

SB does give you a proper size cup of coffee, about 3X the size of most vendors, thus priced accordingly.

More water, I recall only 1 shot, def not 3 anyway, i much prefer a standard size coffee which most shops do

Suppose we start with “they are still open and selling coffee.”

what's wrong with 711 ambiance?? I've got tens if not hundreds of coffees from 711 and never had issues with ambiance. You can take your coffee out, and hang outside the shop kicking off the soi dogs and beggars. You can possibly sit on the one and only (likely broken) blue or red plastic chair that someone has left there, and which possibly will collapse when you sit down on it. While sipping, you can top up your phone and check how much you have put on since last checked.

And if you are off the tourist areas, odds are that the girls behind the counter start giggling 'where you from', and when you answer they have no clue what you said. Good chances to have a date after their workday, possibly leading to anything. Locals come to talk to you or at least show thumbs up.

And you complain about ambiance of genuine cultural experience!

BTW 711 coffee is pretty good, better than in many small coffee shops.

I chose Nitan because it is different from any other coffee shop I have been to in Pattaya.  I should add that my spouse and I don't go to coffee shops that often.  We will sometimes grab coffee on the run at 7-11, Amazon, or small counter coffee places at the mall, etc., but we don't normally seek out a coffee shop to hang out at.

What makes Nitan different is, first, it's huge.  The free-standing building is quite large and the coffee shop covers two floors, with a large open air double height space in the center.  There's a space for live musical entertainment.  It looked like a lot of thought went into the design.  A variety of beverages and food available, including bakery and dessert items.   Nitan would, in my opinion, rank as a destination spot--a place offering something so different from the ordinary that you specifically choose to go there.  A not-very-good photo showing just part of the large, interesting interior but it might give you some idea of why I chose it.
