so most planes do have a security officer?

dressed in plain clothes?

they sit at the back usually?

unarmed?

The term security officer, seems to be lost in translation, as Kuwait Times identified the person as air marshal.

Each country will have it’s own policies on using air marshals, and which flights they are on, is mostly random or selected on intelligence received. They are not on every flight.

UK air marshals are normally armed, I was told a few years ago, not sure if that has changed.

When did a third airport open up? I've been to Don Mueng and Suvarnabhumi, never Bangkok International.

Cool, I hope it gets non stop service from the US through Southwest Airlines on a 737...

It is starting to become more and more of a hype, fighting on planes.
Sooner or later, alcohol is bound to be banned on planes with the exception of Business and First class.

what intelligence?

there's no way to know if someone will get rowdy on a flight.

they probably dont have enough money to put one on every flight, thats why its random.

Think air marshals are there for more than your average p#ss head.

Flight crews are trained to deal with your average nutter.

There will always be a few flights where there are problems, and the plane will land or divert, and the morons get arrested or dumped in a foreign country, and normally put on a future no fly list.

Some time ago,Flying Kuwait from Singapore to Kuwait. At the check-in counter an armed person was watching for trouble, another was at carry-on luggage screening.

At the cabin door the guy with the machine pistol checked boarding passes.

Flying into Kuwait passing the still burning oil fields a couple of fighter aircraft escorts hauled along side.

Aircraft was an A320 still showing signs of wartime duties.

On my return flight got bumped from Business due to some sheik taking over the whole of the forward area for his harem of 4ft tall females

A Kuwait Airways flight from Bangkok to Kuwait was forced to return after a violent confrontation

I am SO confused, this is a flight from Bangkok, which was apparently forced to return (to Bangkok) so how did this happen, in Bangkok???

the Public Prosecution in Kuwait swiftly acted, detaining those involved on charges of violence committed on the aircraft.

The Kuwaiti police are present at Bangkok Airports?  Or did the Embassy dispatch them to a Thai Airport?  I just don't get it!

Ok, so who else expected to see “a British man… “ in there somewhere? 😋

And what was the point of the YouTube clip? Was expecting footage not a narration of what I just read.
